About
Climb this 1,815-foot-tall observation tower to have the whole of Toronto at your feet and overlook up to 100 miles on a clear day. Once the tallest structure on Earth for over 30 years, the CN Tower attracts travelers to its two observation decks—one of which features a glass floor. If you’re looking for an extra thrill, try Edgewalk, where you can walk hands-free on a ledge surrounding the top floors. The tower is also home to the award-winning 360 Restaurant, which completes a rotation around the structure every 72 minutes, giving you an ever-changing view of the city while you dine. – Tripadvisor

- Ben_W2639Richmond, Virginia9 contributionsMust Do Activity in TorontoThis is a fun place to visit while you are in Toronto. Although the price of admission is a little steep, the 360 view of the city is well worth it. I also purchased a ticket for the Skypod for an extra $10 which was fun as well, and is noticeably higher up! However, there is much less space in the skypod to walk around and you'll probably get out relatively quickly. There is a great gift shop with a ton of stuff for anybody, as well as a cafe at the bottom of the tower. I thought these had pretty decent prices given that this is a huge tourist attraction.Visited April 2023Written April 24, 2023
- PBPGYorkshire, United Kingdom6,014 contributionsVery ImpressiveA huge structure that dominates the city skyline, you can go up but I am no good with heights so I resisted the temptation. The lifts are glass and there are windows in the tower so great views all the way up. Plenty of other things to see in the immediate area, the aquarium, and the Blue Jays stadium.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 12, 2023
- Chief_squiggleUnited Kingdom178 contributionsGreat viewsWent up here as part of our City Pass. We were fortunate that during our stay we had plenty of clear days - and on the one we went you could see for miles. Not being a local didn't appreciate all the sights we could see, but that didn.t take away from the experience. The glass floor experience wasn't open during our visit as closed for renovations - but am sure that would have been goodVisited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 30, 2023
- William BSarasota, Florida208 contributionsWanted to experience it for myself.I was always curious about what it would be like to go to the top because of it's popularity among tourists and finally I made it here. When you come here prepare to spend money because parking 🅿️ expensive and so is the admission fee. The waiting lines aren't too bad and they move steady and there's also a security check point. Once past this there are plenty of gift shops and eateries. The ride to the top is rather swift. Once at the top you are at the observation deck 😲 and pretty much the same offerings as down below. It's well worth the visit and there's plenty of room to move about.Visited June 2023Traveled soloWritten June 1, 2023
- helpless1166 contributionsA must visit if in TorontoWe visited the CN tower on a busy evening after being unable to see the top of the tower in the morning due to low visibility. Having been here 25 years ago I was disappointed to find that the glass floor was no longer there and about a third of the floor space was now taken up with tables and chairs thus restricting the full view. The view is still outstanding and worth the visit. Not sure if the extra 10 dollars is worth the trip up to the next level but lots of people did. We did however get to see the Rogers stadium roof open with a baseball game in play hence 4 stars rather than 3.Visited May 2023Written June 8, 2023
- Rajagopal SEdison, New Jersey2,139 contributionsIconicIconic tower in Canada . Right in the heart of the city . Missed seeing it in night . I heard it’s spectacular in the night . There is a observatory with some great views . We chose to go to skylon observatory and had to skip CN observatory. It’s still a great place for family pics and going around . Parking is tough. Paid parkings all around .. good overall .. 👍👍👍Visited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 13, 2023
- Janet D3 contributionsA must!We visited the tower on a Saturday afternoon around 7 PM. We were a little bit late for our timed ticket, but it wasn’t an issue. There was really no line, everything moved pretty quickly. Up in the tower there was a lot of people, but there was still room for us to walk around, take pictures, have a seat. The whole thing took about an hour. We got really nice pictures, and the way down was also pretty quick. This is a must… You can really see the whole city.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 17, 2023

- Sherrylee H3 contributionsJust okayThis was over priced or should have been discounted because observation floor was under construction. The view was okay we paid the extra to go up to the higher level but perhaps that should have been free to compensate for glass floor closure. Was okay but not worth almost 200.00 for 2 adults and 1 childVisited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 20, 2023
- CherylwaltNorth Huntingdon, Pennsylvania56 contributionsCN Tower provides a view and hospitality plusA visit to the CN Tower is more than just an elevator to the top. I recently visited with the University of Pittsburgh Treble Choir and our arrangements were made by Alexandria Macchione and when we arrived we were greeted by Selma and Arantxa. They helped with the arrangements for the choir to perform in the courtyard. It was a beautiful day and the courtyard provided a beautiful setting for the Choir.Hi Cheryl, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and for gracing our patio with the beautiful sounds of the University of Pittsburgh Treble Choir. My wife and I live in New Jersey and thought we would drive up to Toronto and spend a wonderful time ringing in 2020. We did some research in November and based on the amazing reviews from last year we paid $400 for two tickets to the CN Tower party. What an utterly disappointing evening it was. The event was over-hyped, over-priced and completely under-delivered on nearly every aspect. This should be the last year they ever do it and refund half the money back to everyone who paid this year!
The good: Fun music and a couple of good places to dance and the food wasn't awful.
The bad: First, there was no one to assist you when you arrived at the party floor. Downstairs, from the moment you got to the tower you were given directions of where to go and what to do. But when you got upstairs, if you had a question like "How can I get to the observation deck?" no one was there to help. Since there were no signs indicating where to go we were left to wander around the building and open and close doors till we found out how to get out to see the city. Second, the bar service was a complete disaster. You had to wait 40 minutes or longer on line for a drink since they were completely understaffed at the bar stations. Each station had two bartenders who took your order, made the drink(s), took your cash or credit card and got you on your way. If you break that down into real time it came to about 5 minutes for one person ordering two drinks based on what we saw while waiting. And that was paying with cash. We saw someone pay with a credit card and it took 8 minutes to complete the transaction, beginning to end. We also nearly missed the champagne toast since they couldn't get drinks out quick enough. Third, promises of poutine at midnight and dessert stations completely missed the mark. There was poutine somewhere, but even when we asked some of the servers who were just standing around they offered no help in finding it. Maybe I'm being petty, but we were really looking forward to this Canadian treat to usher in the new year. As for other dessert, they had one cotton candy machine that wasn't working properly, jars of loose candy that people were sticking their hands in and grabbing out of as they saw fit, and maybe two or three passed trays of sweets.
By the end of the night the staff seemed to just have given up on making this an enjoyable night and I can't blame them. The people who organized the party floor aspect of the event should all be held accountable for doing such poor planning. The sad part is that this could have been a great time if the organizers didn't cut corners in staffing and paid more attention to the details trying to make this event shine. The solutions are so simple but my guess is that they did it on the cheap to keep costs down.
In the end the CN Tower 2020 was a big let down for New Years and Toronto.

Fantastic experience - a must do whilst visiting Toronto. We took the basic entry ticket that gave access to the main enclosed visitor area, the section of glass floor and access to the external area. It wasn't at all busy so we had plenty of opportunity to gaze through the full length windows at the amazing views of the city.

Visited with my wife and daughter, we had booked tickets to the aquarium as part of the Tower and Sea package. we arrived around 11am and just missed the queues, the queues we witnessed on departure were significant. None of us have a love of heights and it is fair to say my wife was petrified. The Elevator takes 58 seconds to reach the observation deck. We were blessed with blue skies and low winds and was treated to magnificent views of the city and Toronto islands. We took stairwell doen to the ouside deck to walk around the tower and then made our way to the glass floor. We all managed to walk across and survived. All of us loved it. For me it was the highlight of our trip

My family and I visited the CN Tower, Toronto during the Christmas Holidays. Due to the holiday season the line up was quite long and it took us more than half an hour to get to the viewing floor. The view was amazing and we were able to get a bird's eye view of Toronto city and the Lake Ontario.

The elevator is going at a very surprising speed, takes you to the top in few seconds without having the time to realize it.. The 360 degrees view over toronto is a must see. Absolutely stunning. I did amazing pics. The only bemol is the price. When you come with a family ot can turn out to be quite expensive.

An expensive exercise for a family of teenagers and asking for an extra $15 for the pod was far too much.
Probably why we were the only ones up there....
The views are really good on a clear day.
Take plenty of $$.
If we came back would definitely bypass.
The staff were polite and efficient.
The counter staff should tell visitors about the City Pass which would make the visit more cost effective.

I would definitely recommend visiting as early as possible in the morning. I was waiting for the gate to open at 9am and was in the SkyPod by myself for at least 10 minutes. Although I'm not sure the extra entrance fee is worth it as the view seems to differ little from the lookout and the windows aren't as clean for photography. However the man operating the elevator was lovely.
My only gripe of the tour was having to have the tourist photograph taken despite saying I definitely wouldn't be buying it. I was appalled that the photographs had been printed when I got to the bottom. This seems to be a disgraceful waste of energy and material when there must be millions destroyed every year.

The views from the top are spectacular - all round glass windows enable a true 360 degree view. Did not have lunch or dinner, not sure if it is worth it. Entry to the tower itself is pretty expensive but is worth the money while visiting Toronto. Please do park in the nearby parking garage - difficulty to find anything else that is cheaper in the vicinity.

We decided to go up the CN Tower as my mum and dad had done this some 10-15 yrs before us.
I was surprised by how crowded the tower was by all the other buildings right next to it.
We negotiated the ticket machines without too much of a problem . It did however only give us one ticket but charged us for two. We went directly to customer services, explained the problem and they immediately gave us another admission ticket. The were very busy but dealing with people swiftly, politely and efficiently, Impressive.
So off we went to queue. They could learn a thing or two from Disney Florida who know how to entertain the people whilst they queue. Nevertheless we moved without too much time to get too bored and were soon on the elevator up. This was smooth and speedy.
We then found our way to the deck where the floor is glass and marveled at all the people lying on the glass posing for photos, aren't us humans weird!?
There is a cafe up here and a 360 degree view. if you then go to the next deck, you find yourself outside, again there is 360 degree access to the views. There is however a wire mesh (keeping you safe from falling) like a wire cage, so photos were not so good.
It was not until we were in the elevator down that I noticed that this too had a portion of glass floor.
The experience was a good one and I am glad we did it, but it didn't wow me.
Great views of the city etc

Tip 1: Make sure you go on a clear day! If its cloudy or grey I wouldn't bother as that's all you'll see when you get to the top.
Tip 2: Make sure you start filming as soon as you get in the elevator - during the trip up you actually get to see outside but it goes fast so you don't want to miss it because you're fiddling with you're camera!
I've been twice and found the 'glass floor' underwhelming both times - the glass is so thick and you're so high up that it doesn't feeling that thrilling (but that's just me).
The food in the cafe is crazy expensive, so eat before hand. Especially the little ones - they'll be drawn to the smell of hot dogs and french fries!

I saw it from the outside I never went inside as the wait was too long but I think it takes a dozen or so.
Hello, I don’t see an option to book this. Can we just walk up and pay to get in?

Just walk to the booth at the CN tower and they will take your money for the attraction. No cash allowed for payment. You have to pay by credit card.
Make sure you Specify what you want to do in the tower. We just wanted to eat dinner but they charged us for the lift and just to look out the window. The ticket booth has a lot of gimmicky prices. If you want to do just the lift, Make it clear! They use your credit card to put additional charges on it if you do not specify what you want to do inside the tower.

You should be able to use your timed admission within 30 minutes or 60 minutes of the original chosen timeslot. If you're later than that, admission is not guaranteed but front counters are open so I am sure you can approach of the salesperson and they could let you in if they're not over capacity or at the next scheduled time.
If you're referring to the restaurant, reservations are held generally up to 15-20 minutes. You're considered a no-show after this time and would lose the reservations and be placed on the "walk-in" list if they have one.

Are there seats in the Skypod where a visitor can wait to meet a relative who is doing an Edgewalk while the visitor watches from above?

Yes. There are seats. If I can remember correctly, I think they had a small snack bar with drinks and sandwiches. Its much cheaper than the 200 dollars we paid for sitting at the 360 restaurant.
I tried to purchase tickets and it’s saying can’t authorize my payment. I tried multiple cards. The information I entered matches my bank info etc. we are looking to drive from Buffalo today to visit.

I know its a caution but...Never pay online . Scammers are everywhere. It is safe just to wait till you get there. We paid at the booth. We had just a 15 minute wait to get inside.

Help me figure something out with tower admission and restaurant dinner. Planning our first trip to Toronto next month. Wondering why the discrepency between the restaurant child age cap of 12 vs the elevation admission age cap of 13. Planning to eat at the 360 restaurant but it seems silly that for our 13 year old, we have to order him the Price Fixes dinner at $65 even though he would technically get in for elevation admission at a savings of $13 ticket price. And yet, if we buy the $65 dinner including admission for us three adults and just pay his admission and bring him to dinner, we can't get him the Price Fix dinner price of a child at $40 including elevation, or a reduced a la carte menu dinner. Can you help me out with a solution to this?

Call the CN tower when you arrive. Have them explain the prices. We talked to a manager at the Tower. Some of the managers are honest and won't think of you as just a money bag. This place wants your money. So, I am sure you can get a good deal. DO NOT pay at the booth or online. Talk to a manager at the restaurant or a supervisor at the back office in the Tower.

You would be foolish to visit the CNTower and not visit Ripley’s Aquarium next door. Go to the Aquarium first and then go to the CN Tower to catch it during daylight and sunset. Yes you can get a combination tickets through city pass but it also includes two other attractions. Make sure to allow for a very full day at the Toronto zoo because it is very large and takes quite a while to walk through

Thanks so much for visiting with us and for offering this great tip. If you do not have time to visit the other attractions in CityPASS you can also purchase a Sea the Sky ticket that is just for the CN Tower and Ripley's.

We are visiting Toronto in August 2020, can anyone give me some advice about best time to visit to avoid queues. Is there benefit to buying ticket in advance. We are only considering to visit the zoo in Toronto so is there any combination tickets? Thanks.

Look at CITY PASS for Toronto for multiple attractions. If you book a reservation to the 360 restaurant in the CN tower you get a free lift and admission up the tower. Book your reservation to overlap the sun down. So you see the beginning to the end with a 360 view.
