I went here for the day with my wife. You get the tube from Guy Concordia and when you get off at the station walk away from the station down the main road. About 400 yards down on the opposite side of the road you will see the place with the Jewish flag outside. We had to check our bags in and we paid $16 for the pair of us.

For anyone needing the loo, its down a passage near the cafe and then down in the lift to the bathrooms. We went in to the centre and saw all the items on view. There is a lot of information which explains the history of the Jews in Germany and the effect of Nazism on them.

The worst part of this visit was that there was a group of teenage school children there who were constantly walking around, hitting each other and being totally disrespectful to the museum and the items on display. If we were watching a video we could not concentrate because of the racket they kept making. At one point turned to some of them and asked if they had no respect the museum and the items on display. I heard some students mention some English person and I knew they were talking about me because their behaviour was disgraceful.

At the end of the visit we mentioned their behaviour to the lady in the box office and she mentioned that she had seen it too. One of the main difficulties was that there was a teacher with them who did nothing to challenge them and just left them to do their own thing. Staff mentioned that students visit free and we asked that they mentioned this behaviour to other staff and hopefully a letter would be written to the college concerned to explain to them about the concerns. It was really disgraceful. The staff offered to give us free tickets to come again, but we reluctantly had to refuse, but we thanked them for their gesture.

On the positive side there is lots of material on view, including stuff on computer screens which shows events from the early 1930's until the end of the war. We would have really enjoyed the visit if it had not been for the disrespectful students. I looked for the teacher afterwards so I could have words with him, but he was nowhere to be found. The fact that he tolerated such behaviour shows how little thought he gave to the place and the materials on display.

Monkland Avenue is filled with shops, cafes, restaurants, great croissant bakeries, a beigel bakery and a lot more and with a frequent bus line (103). It is a nice stroll taking you all the way from Villa Marie metro station to the public library and public pool. Very nice neighborhood to visit if you are in the NDG area.

I studied at UdeM, as the university is commonly known. It's a nice enough university, with some nice architecture if you know where to look. The main hall of Roger-Gaudry (the ubiquitous building with the huge tower, which is the health sciences building) is a pretty nice place, and there's a bunch of old doors and wooden staircases throughout the building. You also get a really nice view of the city from on top of the mountain, although the stairs are kind of tedious to climb; there's a free bus shuttle that goes from Université de Montréal metro all the way up the mountain.

The other buildings are more recent, so they're not as interesting to see. Parking is expensive, and the food in the school is your typical university food.

If you're around, because you're visiting the basilica or for any other reason, it's a nice place to walk past, but don't take a detour just to see it.

With Montreal’s declining English comunity you would expect an inferior English theatre.
Yes the venue is not huge, but the quality of shows sure make you feel like they are.
In either theatre you really feel like you are part of the production.....love this Gem of a Theatre!

Whilst not the very best view of Montreal, this is one not to miss! Usually, there are smaller crowds too!

We recently had the opportunity to attend a concert (A Shakespearian Night's Dream) of the Orchestre Metropolitain de Montreal in the Church of Saint-Sixte in the Saint-Laurent Borough of Montreal.
That evening the orchestra was superbly directed by Alexander Shelley who is since 2015 Music Director of Canada's National Arts Centre orchestra and featured a performance by Montreal-born famous clarinet David Dias Da Silva.
The concert was outstanding from beginning to end and the acoustic in this neighbourhood church was great.
What was even greater was the price we paid to enjoy an amazing concert by a great orchestra, that is $16 per person (the senior rate).
This concert was part and parcel of the OMM tour in eight boroughs to bring the symphonic experience to Montrealers in their neighborhood.

This library, which caters mostly to the Montreal Jewish community is a great place to pick up a book, movie, or newspaper related to Judaism and/or Israel, and many other cultural writings.

Love this outdoor 50 m swim pool. Clean, friendly staff and safe.

It is open only during the Summer but well worth the visit.

I did my length swim from the opening time at 11:30 am and did not find the place crowded.
They also have a great are for children.

I went there to pray and the congregation was so inviting I ended up staying there. The Rabbi Asher Jacoboson is a great speaker and does his sermons on Saturday during Shabbos. He also does classes on Tanya and his way of explaining things is at every level. It is a very welcoming place come and join us for services if you are out of town.Btw this place is for everyone that needs a place for spiritual wisdom or prayers. They offer services for marriage, bar mitzvahs, weddings and funerals and if you need to speak to a Rabbi he is a great listener and has great wisdom to help, you see it in a different light. I will say many come to the place of worship. The building itself was made a long time ago and the glass windows are from the glass of other synagogues collected from the holocaust it has a very interesting history. Come and join us.

Chabad NDG is an incredible place. If you are in Montreal you must try their Friday night or Saturday prayers. Maybe you’d like a Shabbat dinner or a social event. Relationships classes, Kabbalah classes, holiday celebrations. The people are amazing and community is warm and friendly. I would check the website to see what’s happening this week.

As they say at this club, there are only two types of music... Good or bad ... This club does the good, all genres, by great musicians, where you can dance if you want to.,. In the best most unpretentious way. A bar who's motto is "Wheel people, Wheel music" works hard to live up to this. Enjoy every moment at the club. A diamond in the community.
