Build improve suggestions?

Thought I'd share my current late 2019 rig as I got some inspiration in this subreddit.

PC connected to an Asus ROG STRIX XG279Q-1440p 165hz, build up inside a Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic Razer Edition.

I'm planning on upgrading some components but unsure, open to suggestions. Perhaps changing to air cooling rather than water, as I don’t OC CPUs at all. I’m also looking for better energy efficience and colder temps, with ofc having in mind demanding games. I use it purely for gaming in 1440p, like last Total Wars, Helldivers 2, WH 40K: Darktide, Chivalry 2, World of Warships and grand strategy games.

So the build is:

  • Asus ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming

  • Gigabyte Aorus GeForce® RTX 2080 SUPER™ 8G

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600

  • WD BLACK SN750 SE 500GB M.2 2280 PCIe

  • SABRENT SSD 500GB PCIe 4.0 M.2

  • G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 16GB 2x8GB CL16.

  • Seasonic FOCUS PX-650 80 PLUS Platinum 650w

  • AOI: Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Pro XT

  • 6x Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB fans.

Any suggestion will be more than welcomed!

A lot of units on the screen require a good CPU. You can upgrade your BIOS and install a Ryzen 5800X3D

Especially later in the game that should help to keep the game more smoothly

Other than that: GPU and may PSU next - here's a ranking list: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

Tbh I’m not sure about the PSU - imho it is the best brand out there and efficient as hell. It’s just the part I’m more reluctant to replace. I know it’s 650W but so far I had no problem. With the new components it might consume more but should be OK. Also, what about Ryzen 5 5600x? Same wattage as mine and more affordable. And playing at 2k mostly I think I should invest more in a GPU. Idk. Thanks for the feedback btw.

If you're unsure about the PSU insert your parts into pcpartpicker.com, it shows you an estimated wattage. As long as the estimated wattage is under 90% of the capabilities of your PSU there's a high chance it will run and not just shut off.

Most desirable is ofc a value between 50 and 80% load since a PSU is the most efficient here.
