Rennes set to reward Julien Stéphan with two-year contract extension

Julien Stéphan, who was brought in to replace Bruno Genesio until the end of the season back in November, is set to see his contract at Stade Rennais extended, according to a report from Le Parisien

A renewal has been in the works for some time. Stéphan, in his second spell as Rennes manager, has orchestrated a revival this season. He has led the club from mid-table mediocrity and into contention for a European place, whilst Les Rennais have also made the Coupe de France semi-final, where they will face Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

It therefore looked increasingly likely that Stéphan, who was only brought in until the end of the season, would have his stay at Roazhon Park extended. Le Parisien report that the Frenchman will put pen to paper on a contract extension this week, which will tie him to the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.
