Hollywood conservatives could use some help. Material referring to living people must be handled carefully, because they are more open to legal threats. Reference any contentious allegations solidly; unreferenced allegations should be removed. Whatever is credible should be sourced, and what is not should be removed.

Wow, who knew that @chuckwoolery has become such a vortex of neo-Nazism and antisemitism? Did I miss a memo?
—Charles Johnson[1]

According to conservatives, the entertainment industry is dominated by liberals ("Hollywood values"). A secretive organization known as 'Friends of Abe'Wikipedia existed from 2004-2016: it was effectively destroyed by Trump.[2] Friends of Abe may have had as many as 1,500–1,800 members.[3][4] Known members included Gary Sinise, Jon Voight, Kelsey Grammer, Lionel Chetwynd and Jeremy Boreing.[3]

It is worth noting that the appeal to celebrity is a fallacy. Politics is well outside the realm of Hollywood expertise, and celebrities who become politicians can create some right royal cockups, often relying on the style over substance fallacy for polices because celebrity is all about style.

To illustrate the liberal dominance of Hollywood, here is a list of that endangered, oppressed, voiceless species — the showbiz conservative. (Those marked with '#' are deceased.)

Actors

People ask me questions about present situations in life, and I say, 'I don't know, I'm just an actor. I don't have any opinions. Actors are pretty stupid. My opinion is not worth anything. There's no controversy for me, so don't engage me in it, because I'm not going to participate.'
—Anthony Hopkins[5]

It can be hard to ferret out what actors actually think: are they still acting when they're giving an interview? Do they actually believe in anything at all? To be fair, there are some brilliant people who are actors, but we're keeping it a secret just for their reputations.

Reality Television "Stars"

Game show hosts

According to an article in The Daily Beast, with few exceptions (former The Price Is Right host Bob Barker might be the most unusual because he is an animal rights activist and was also in a Republican political ad), nearly every game show host is a Republican.[226]

Nazi in the closet

David Cole/David Stein: Notorious Holocaust revisionist who posed as a prominent Hollywood GOP organizer for years before being outed.[227]

In 2016, however, she flipped and endorsed Donald Trump[17] as a "lesser of two evils" option versus Hillary Clinton, and now spends her time spreading alt-right conspiracy theories.[18] This actually isn't that big a change; even in her left-wing days, she was spreading conspiracy theories about Hollywood being run by MKULTRA and publishing a rambling, batshit insane "Letter to Congress".[19]

  146. Has donated to the presidential campaigns of both John McCain and Mitt Romney.[201]
  147. Closeted reactionary and dogged Roosevelt-hater.] It was no secret to anyone who worked with him, though.[202]
  148. At least according to his attorney, though said attorney also said Carson was more of a rare Eisenhower Republican. Carson also opposed the Vietnam War and the Death Penalty, and was an advocate for Civil Rights.[203]
  149. Author of Tom Clancy's Tom Clancy: Clancy Edition, starring John Clancy. An old cold warrior-turned-writer of "The-Russians-Are-Coming" pulp thrillers. NRA spokesman and occasional talking head on CNN, sparring with naive liberals who think America won the Cold War! Also still dead.[204]
  150. A lifelong conservative activist who admired Herbert Hoover. He was also a noted anti-communist.
  151. His most infamous film, The Birth of a Nation, featured a full-on revisionist history of the Civil War, complete with fawning portrait of the KKK.
  152. Endorsed Marco Rubio in the 2016 primaries.[206]
  153. Launched a Kickstarter campaign for his own streaming service for family-focused entertainment called OAXIS, without disclosing that the streaming service is going to focus more on religious themes and Christianity.[207]

  155. The director of A Boy and His Dog and the co-star of Seagal's The Patriot is a staunch Methodist and Republican.[209]
  156. Flip-flops between calling himself a Conservative and a Libertarian. Wrote about how conservatives were being discriminated against in Hollywood.[210] Also writes for PJ Media and hosts a show for The Daily Wire.[211]
  157. "I Am No Longer a Brain Dead Liberal, just a brain dead Conservative"[212] a.k.a. Stossel trying to out-smug David Mamet. They're jerking themselves so hard it's amazing they didn't catch fire.
  158. The writer of (among other films) Red Dawn, which speaks for itself. He has described his politics as being so far to the right that he's virtually a Maoist. Especially known for his love of guns; he once served on the National Rifle Association's board of directors.[213]
  159. Semi-retired producer who went from The Color Purple, Rain Man, Jurassic Park, and Schindler's List... to Dinesh D'Souza's 2016: Obama's America, America: Imagine the World Without Her, and Hillary's America. Granted, his downfall may have started with Casper.
  160. Though a lifelong Republican, the beloved host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was a moderate if there ever was one and would probably be considered too liberal for the modern GOP.[214]
  161. A well-known fan of Ayn Rand, who is committed to getting an adaptation of The Fountainhead off the ground.[215] Critics have also] read objectivist themes into his adaptation of Watchmen (rather ironically, given Watchmen writer Alan Moore's hard-left anarchist politics) and his work in the DC Extended Universe.[216]
  162. Chiefly a libertarian, especially on free speech issues and religion; he has little love for either the religious right or political correctness. While he has endorsed (moderate) Republicans like George Pataki and Christine Todd Whitman, he was also one of the most outspoken media opponents of George W. Bush. He supported Hillary Clinton and frequently mocks his personal friend Donald Trump. He also strongly supports the state of Israel.[217]
  163. Dedicated anti-communist, put in charge of 'clearing' his guests before airtime. Butted heads with Standards & Practices over some of their worst decisions, such as canceling Bob Dylan's and Ingrid Bergman's appearances.[218]
  164. Became a life peer of the Conservative Party in 1997.[219]
  165. The director of the first 3 Death Wish movies. A supporter of Margaret Thatcher, opponent of political correctness and said he would be "to the right of Hitler" if he were prime minister, though also an outspoken gay rights supporter.[220]
  166. Italian director who thought that Mel Gibson could play Hamlet after watching Lethal Weapon. Also a former senator for Berlusconi's Forza Italia party, despite being openly homosexual.[221]
  167. Director and co-writer of Airplane!, The Naked Gun, Scary Movie 3 and 4 … and An American Carol.[222]
  168. Self-identifies as a libertarian but he also regularly supports Republicans like Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020.[224]
  169. Of Duck Dynasty fame. He's also very homophobic and very atheophobic. Appeared in several Steve Bannon films and is also a contributor to CRTV as of October 2017.[225]
