To relieve some of the ongoing concerns related to the impact of COVID-19 on student test scores, magnet programs with academic criteria now have two eligibility options for the 2022/23 school year. Test scores for school years 2020/21, 2018/19 and 2017/18 will be considered in determining eligibility.
Broward County Public Schools offers the following choices:
Reassignments:
allowing attendance to a school without transportation
Magnet Programs:
offering in-depth experiences in specific areas of interest
Innovative Programs:
offering courses of study centered on specific themes
Career Technical Academy (CTACE) Programs:
offering students a pathway to industry driven careers, certifications, & workplace experiences
Nova Schools:
providing four schools on one campus (grades K-12)
Collegiate Academies:
offering high school students the opportunity to earn their high school diploma and their Associates in Arts degree
Gifted Academy:
specialized instruction for gifted students who require a differentiated program to meet their special needs
Broward Virtual School:
offers full-time enrollment to students in grades K-12 through an Online educational delivery system
Heron Heights / Park Trails Elementary School Combined Area:
assigns students living within the Heron Heights / Park Trails Elementary School combined area to Heron Heights, Park Trails, or Riverglades Elementary School
Boundary Choice Area:
allowing a choice option to attend Plantation MS, Boyd Anderson HS, Cooper City HS or Plantation HS for a portion of students residing in a specific area
Florida Department of Education offers the following choices:
providing additional options for Students with Disabilities.
Hope Scholarship:
providing additional options for students who have reported a qualified K-12 public school/event incident
Family Empowerment Scholarship:
providing additional options for students to attend a private school of choice
Opportunity Scholarship:
providing additional options for Students with Disabilities to attend another public school of choice

Applications will be accepted only if the parent / legal guardian has active‐duty military status, retired from the military within the last year, or has permanent employment within Broward County Public Schools & the school is within their Innovation Zone.
Choice Area

The school is a boundary choice option for students who reside within the combined boundary area of Heron Heights & Park Trails Elementary School. Applications will be accepted if the student lives within the choice option area.

Academic Requirements:
- Florida Assessment of Student Thinking FAST PM3 (English language arts & Mathematics): Level 3 or greater
- GPA (Unweighted Core): 2.5 or greater
Transportation provided North of Griffin Rd. for Magnet students who live more than 2 miles from the school
Magnet Program: International Baccalaureate Diploma, and Middle Years Program
Academic Requirements:
- Florida Assessment of Student Thinking FAST PM3 (English language arts & Mathematics): Level 4 or greater
- GPA (Unweighted Core): 3.0 or greater
Transportation is provided for Magnet students who live South of Commercial Blvd. and North of Griffin Rd. and live more than 2 miles from Boyd Anderson High School
Magnet Program: The Entrepreneur and Leadership Military Academy
Academic Requirements:
- Florida Assessment of Student Thinking FAST PM3 (English language arts & Mathematics): Level 3 or greater
- GPA (Unweighted Core): 2.5 or greater
Transportation provided North of Sunrise Blvd. for Magnet students who live more than 2 miles from the school

These Career, Technical, Adult & Community Education (CTACE) programs offer students a pathway to industry driven careers and include industry certifications, post-secondary experiences, and workplace experiences.
