Brother Records

Former Location –
In 1966 The Beach Boys formed their own record label and housed it here. Early records were distributed by Capitol Records and then Reprise Records. They also established Brother Records, Inc. which is a company that owns the intellectual property rights of the Beach Boys, including “The Beach Boys” trademark.

Their “Smiley Smile” album was issued on Brother, as well as one single,”Heroes and Villains”, after which the Beach Boys records were issued on Capitol Records. The company had one other album by the group The Flame, a group that Carl Wilson produced.
