How viral Brooks Koepka-Bryson DeChambeau video leaked

The video was an instant viral sensation, adding to an already fascinating golf feud between Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau. Tom Brady used it as a meme on social media. It received millions of views.

The question, though, remained: How did the NBC clip during the PGA Championship of Koepka showing his obvious disdain and muttering under his breath about DeChambeau, who was walking by during the shot, leak?

There have been theories that it was intentional. But it simply came down to a random Twitter user named @RJWinfield stumbling into it and posting the video, according to Golf.com.

Winfield found it from a separate tweet, which had sent the link to MediaSilo, a secure way to share videos. It’s basically a private version of YouTube. Winfield downloaded the video and posted it.

“The rest is history,” he said.

His theory is that the MediaSilo link was sent from someone connected to the PGA Tour to someone on the outside. Golf.com reported that Koepka wanted to get his hands on the video for his friends and to enjoy it himself, but didn’t necessarily want it to spread like this. His agent, Blake Smith, declined comment.
