We booked a return trip to spain, although we booked our return later than our outward crossing as we waited for the covid situation to become clear. Brittany Ferries cancelled our outward trip and emailed us stating we would get a refund,. We contacted them with full trip details and they will only refund the outward trip and not the return. Our only window was to go when we planned and we cannot, given the situation in France, use any alternative method to drive there. Our return journey is therefore useless but they refuse to refund it. Can I suggest that anyone considering using them seriously considers their condescending attitude to customers and uses a credit card so that they can get a refund from there. Bear in mind a Flexi ticket still means they keep 25% if you cancel.

With the French changing their rules as to traveling to France we had no option but to cancel our trip. we did this via e-mail. as we tried repeatedly to get through on the phone, hanging on for 2 hours each day for threes days. We were also advised on their website to use web chat.... not available. i have now sent three e-mails over 6 days with no response. Surely companies are not suppose operate like this and get away with it. I still await their response and will change this review upon a satisfactory outcome.

I too had my sailing cancelled and incurred costs. It’s a pity that BF are not concerned about the negativity of their poor customer service and handling of customer complaints It appears that once you’ve paid for your booking, you stand a very high chance of losing some or all of your money if your sailing has to be cancelled Suggesting that passengers claim on their travel insurance, hmmm, let’s think about that Asking someone else to compensate you for BF unwillingness to abide by their T&C is a joke. Come on BF, if you want to keep customers, do the right thing, improve your customer service and be more reasonable to your customers. Once you loose credibility it’s difficult to get it back

They cancelled my ferry and then asked me to pay more money for a different date and with a downgraded cabin. On top of that, they refuse to issue a refund for both ways as the return is technically not cancelled yet. Absolute sham of a company, will take your money and run.

Absolute shocking customer service. We have a crossing booked for August, but due t the current restrictions, we have decided to 'try' and cancel our booking. Customer service are saying that we will lose 50% of our booking costs. I appreciate that during normal times this would still be a less than favorable policy still, but during these unexpected times, I would have expected Brittany Ferries, to be a little more understandable to people needs, and reservations over travelling abroad, but no, they just don't seem to care. We have used Brittany ferries for the last 10yrs, but this has totally changed our opinion of them, and will be very hesitant in using them again in the future.
