Limited 13 CD set. Brick - The Songs of Ben Folds, 1996-2012 features the CDs housed in a unique brick box set. This collection of 194 tracks spans the career to date of one of the most adventurous and exciting songwriters and performers of his generation, who has not only worked with a diverse range of artists including William Shatner, Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor, but authors Nick Hornby and Neil Gaiman. In addition to featuring all the Ben Folds Five and Ben Folds' solo studio albums, the box set also includes the 2002 Ben Folds Live album, the live album Songs For Goldfish which accompanied the 2005 album Songs For Silverman, the alternative Seeds versions from Stems And Seeds, and all the bonus tracks, b-sides and rarities from the whole period. The box includes a 60 page booklet featuring a brand new interview with Paul Myers.

I love the collection and the alternate releases of the original CDs. I haven't listened to all of them yet but I intend too. The box is much bigger than it needs to be and I need to rip them to my computer. I bought the product used but I should get the digital copies. I am old fashioned and like the actual product in my hands. Obviously the seller was very smart for buying the product reselling the tangibles and keeping the rights to the digital copies.

A pesar de que soy un gran fan de Ben Folds/Five y tengo la mayoría de sus discos principales, es gratificante saber que aún hay muchísima música oculta que no está en las tiendas comunes, tales como demos, bonus, etc. Sin duda un buen box.
El único detalle es que la copia de la letra "Brick" vino maltratada.

Terrific boxed set captures career from 1994-2012.

A well made set from Edsel that covers Ben Folds career from the “Five” years to solo (through 2012) and with bonus discs/material, the mastering appears to be largely the same for the original; releases which is a plus as these albums sounded great to begin with.

The set puts all the discs in cardboard sleeves with replicas of the original cover. There’s also a very good booklet for the set.

The cardboard box is pretty solid that holds all the discs (though I had hoped originally that it was a plastic replica of a ‘brick’-I know bone headed, huh? As I thought it might be a bit more deluxe-why -lactic? I have no idea).

Anyhow, this is a good set (for those unaware, the title comes from a song that Folds wrote about his girlfriends abortion while he was in high school). It also fits this set which is a sold brick of music and the foundation of a career from a talented musician who )nice claimed that his music was Punk Rock for sissies.

Ce coffret est plus qu'une fenêtre ouverte sur un ensemble musicla de très grande qualité, c'est une fenêtre donnant accès à un très riche univers sonore, marqué par la personnalité d'un pianiste américain extraordinaire de la stature d'un Billy Joël ou d'un Elton John.
Des références prestigieuses me direz-vous ? Et vous aurez raison, mais, Ben Folds est un "homme piano" comme l'était Elton John, et même quand il se fait accompagner d'une basse et d'une batterie au sein du Ben Fold Five, c'est encore son piano, qui enchante les mélodies composées.
Quand il sort ses albums, seul, en tant que Ben Folds, son piano suffit, seul encore une fois, à enchanter les minutes passées à l'écouter.
Sur les 13 albums qui composent cette compilation couvrant les années 1995 à 2012 placées au sein d'un coffret brique du meilleur goût en forme de clin d'oeil réussi, des albums studio d'anthologie ("Rockin suburbs", "Supersunnyspeedgraphic", "Sound life of mind", "Whatever and ever amen"...) mais aussi d'excellents enregistrements "live" donnant à écouter un artiste vibrant d'énergie en scène).
L'ensemble illustre l'extraordinaire talent d'un pianiste hors pair, digne des plus grands...
Peu connu en France, voire inconnu, il mérite de sortir de cet anonymat injuste comme l'y invite, ce coffret au potentiel impressionnant.

Ben Folds once proclaimed his music to be "Punk rock for sissies". It's since evolved into a lot more since then, but I love the music.

Everything in this package was excellent quality, with an exception to the sheet notes mentioned in my title. I can't harp on it much, as it was shipped from the UK to NYC, but nevertheless I must mention it as I was hoping to have it framed. It was merely tossed in the bottom of the package, like it was part of the cushioning and warped/shredded the corners a bit from parcel handling across the pond.

Instead, It's going in an nice folder, along with my other Ben Folds autographs and memorabilia.

Music quality: Top notch, quality of music always sounds better from the hard disc, than the streaming services. That may have been the most pretentious thing I've ever said.

Loved the purchase, thanks for offering this Amazon.

I tried to post a review just before you actually! - its a very good retrospective of Ben folds five and Ben folds. Same problem with the Song Sheet unfortunately. I wanted to frame it too. Amazon were helpful and worked with me on it. It took 3 tries to receive a box set with the Song Sheet protected!! - happy now at least.
