  1. Domenic says:

Bret Hart selected these matches himself! I would buy this just for this match alone….

    WWE Championship Match
    Bret Hart vs. Diesel
    King of the Ring-June 19, 1994

  2. Danny says:

I didnt really understand the point of his “dungeon” theme for this dvd. The matches are a poor selection, i could of chosen better easily.

Overall a dvd to leave in the cupboard!

  3. Ace R says:

Great choice of matches on this dvd..I was hoping to see Bret vs Dibiase from MSG-Dec. 1991… as well as Bret vs Martel from EUROPEAN RAMPAGE- Apr. 1992..and Bret vs Papa Shango from the last Saturday Nights Main Event. In Nov. Of 1992…otherwise a great set & I can’t complaint..can’t wait to get it.

  4. Christopher Dawson says:

Disappointed there’s a ‘delay’ for the UK/European release. Big Bret Hart fan and have bought his and his family DVD plus the Shawn v Bret Blu Ray. Hope for news on this release soon.

  5. thejmp187 says:

Bomb dvd. I have 2 copies of his first one sealed one not. Huge bret hart fan. He makes wrestling look awesome. Great in the ring…very happy they did another I had a feeling they would, its bret hart cmon… And they could really do a 3 a 4 a 5…no one would mind..

    • john rega says:

I also have 2 copies of the first Bret Hart dvd. One sealed and one opened. Im doing the same on this one but on bluray. Can’t wait.

      • Anonymous says:

Hopefully this is the end of the Bret Hart releases. This one looks like it’ll be okay, but they really had to scrape the bottom of the barrel in making it (Twin Towers, Islanders, Leo Burke, Buzz Sawyer, Lafitte, Patriot anyone? This is likely their first time on DVD outside of 20 DVD PPV Anthologies). Really, I don’t think there’s another 3 unreleased and filmed Bret Hart matches that I’d care to see and certainly not enough to fill one DVD, much less another set. Still, this set should be okay and a nice way to end the Bret Hart releases on a decent note.

  6. tom says:

wish this set had the hart foundation’s first tag team championship win, as well as thier first title loss.
the final-4 with undertaker, vader and sid woulda been good to have, too.

  7. RCS1988 says:

I will get the DVD anyways, but shocked that all the matches I suggested except for 1 didn’t make the DVD, and kind of weird that the only dark match tv taping never before seen match is Bret vs. Yoko from a Raw taping 11/29/93. Hopfully WWE releases an Undertaker unreleased set with dark matches from tv tapings.

  8. Jammer says:

I was gonna be pleased no matter what with this DVD because it’s a Bret Hart one. The only thing I wasn’t happy to see was that the Hart Foundation vs. Demolition match from SummerSlam 90 isn’t on the DVD. That was a sweet best of 3 falls match and having the Hart Foundation win the tag titles in that match seemed like a no brainer to be on the DVD set.

  9. miz4life says:

Excuse me while I Mark The F*** Out!.

  10. Nick says:

For anyone curious about the Bam Bam match being the same as the one on the first bret dvd.

25.04.1993 World Wrestling Entertainment Bret Hart defeats Bam Bam Bigelow (20:37) WWF European Spring Tour @ Forum di Assago in Mailand, Italien (Dungeon)

24.04.1993 World Wrestling Entertainment Bret Hart defeats Bam Bam Bigelow (11:56) WWF European Spring Tour @ Barcelona, Spanien (The best there is)

  11. Nick says:

They left off the flair souled out match. bummer.

  12. Lemo says:

Nearly perfect ! My only complain that they choose the wrong Booker T match, it should be the one from February

  13. Lemo says:

Should be Blu-Ray of the year 🙂

    • John says:

I do not know if Bret Hart Collection will be Blu-Ray of the year, if I have a vote, I would vote WCW volume 2 as Blu-Ray of the year due to the insane amount of matches on the set! I might give Bret Hart #2 ranking but that depends on what is coming out in the coming months and what is on the sets

  14. Nick says:

I hope the 1st dynamite match isn’t clipped to shit. I hope its the one where stu tells them to give him 8 more minutes for tv. The highlights on brets dvd of them beating the piss out of each other is awesome.

  15. Lendus1985 says:

Simply put….Awesome!! I really cannot wait!!!

  16. warresg says:

a little disappointed but will still buy 🙂

  17. CS 22 says:

Looks pretty good. Especially with an IYH collection getting released and WWE wanting to save some matches for that one. I am glad they included matches with Owen and Perfect that we haven’t seen (on tape anyway). Plenty of variety too. From matches with those two and Dynamite to matches against Vader, Bam Bam and Yoko.

The only question I have is why they didn’t include the title match with Flair where Bret won his first WWE title. That’s never been released on DVD has it?

  18. Anonymous says:

I think ill be waiting for the IYH bluray. But im loving these match listings.
    Thanks WDN Staff. Great Work

  19. X-23 says:

I bet half of these matches end with a small package. lol

  20. Nick says:

Talk about quality.WOW. I’m guessing there’s a lot of long matches on here, that’s why there’s only 19 matches. Very happy about this set. About time the WWE brought out something decent. Love old school wrestling.

Also glad they included a lot of stories which was what I was hoping for. Blu Ray all the way.

  21. captain planet says:

This set sounds awesome! Was really looking forward to the match listing. I always love watching Bret matches I’ve never seen, and this set has a ton of them. If it sells really well, I could easily see them doing another set (Nitro and ECW are getting unexpected sequels, so who knows). We still have yet to see the Bret/Owen match where Owen wins the WWF title. That might be the last filmed Bret vs Owen match that isn’t on DVD ( I could be wrong ). Also, I don’t think they filmed it, but the special house show they did in NY 2010 where Bret teamed with the Hart Dynasty was worthy of being included in something like this. Bret had his best post-career work in that match.

Anyway, lots of good stuff here. Can’t wait!

    • John says:

I would love to see the Lumberjack match when Owen won the title and got to hold it for a few minutes in the next release, I saw it on Youtube and I had a big smile on my face when Owen won the title but I wish the match did not re-start, that sucked! I am a bigger fan of Owen than Bret

    • captain planet says:

Ditto! Would love to see it. Also, forgot this one: have they released the Bret/Owen match from November ’96 yet? It was on this Bret Hart match compilation VHS I bought in ’97.

    • john peterson says:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZVNXGAU2XA&list=FLDiPfd9AVU7go58PNBddyiw They have a 60 minute Iron man Match from July of 94.I believe this is the only Bret and Owen match that hasn’t been released

      • Dave says:

Also from what i understand the Iron man with Bret/Owen was not filmed by WWE so they don’t have a master and only available on fancam.

  22. bryan g says:

SOLD!!! I’d buy this just to watch Bret vs Diesel from the 94 KotR

  23. Stu4ever says:

Hitman Hart matches are good. Feed me more.

  24. Anonymous says:

I wonder why we didn’t get a DVD exclusive also so we could get a few more matches. Is WWE even still doing that? Kinda seems like they are moving more and more towards blu-ray, although we did get some for the Attitude Era set

    • John says:

It is because fans are complaining that they have to get the DVD set for different matches when they should have put it on the blu-ray as a blu-ray exclusive, I can not blame the fans for complaining

    • Dave says:

Because Blu-ray is the way to go…DVD releases shouldn’t even get exclusive content anymore, WWE should only include them on Blu-ray.

Consumers pay premium for Blu-ray so WWE better include extra content. If people want to stick to DVD and not move on, so be it, no need to blame WWE because you’re too stubborn upgrade your electronic equipment. Blu-ray players aren’t $500 anymore so that shouldn’t be an excuse.

Once people finally realize that, maybe WWE could at least start releasing monthly PPVs on Blu-ray in North America. Its sucks WWE Blu-rays are more in demand in Europe then here.

  25. charlie f says:

My other Hart dvds are constantly being watched this will be no different. I was secretly hoping for a foundation vs bulldogs match that I havent seen. However I am 100% satisfied with this set. Bring on vol 2 lol!

    • John says:

I do not see a volume 2 being released, it is probably the last Bret Hart set but I could be wrong though, we will see….

  26. Brad Attitude says:

As a devoted Hitman fan, I’m still unsure about this set but we’ll see…

    • John says:

What do you mean you are unsure about this set?

      • Brad Attitude says:

it means i’m unsure if i wanna pick buy this. i was expecting it to be a stacked set considering this could be the last bret hart dvd being produced. the stampede matches, no holds barred with owen hart & king of the ring with diesel are good additions but i couldn’t care less about his matches with guys like hakushi and jean-pierre whatever his name is. and the sting match is a bad way to end the dvd set. it wasnt that good of a match … i just expected more matches.

        • indyfan says:

That match with Jean Pierre is actually a great match. This set looks insane.

        • Anonymous says:

You’re excited for Diesel but not great workers like Lafitte and Hakushi? That’s sort of odd. The Diesel match was good, but I’m sure both of those other matches are just as good if not better.

          • Brad Attitude says:

Hakushi became a jobber and the other canadian dude disappeared off the face of the earth while Diesel/Kevin Nash went on to have much bigger success.

            • indyfan says:

Hahah Nash sucks and his only good matches are with guys like HBK and Hart. Hakushi is awesome and a legend in Japan. PCO(Lefitte) is still active today. Sorry you don’t know that much outside of WWE.

And really it’s not about his popular.. it shoudl be about what matches are good and which ones aren’t.

Don’t forget, Bret actually hand picked the matches. SO they are more than likely great matches.

              • Brad Attitude says:

                NOT PICKING THIS UP.

HAKUSHI IS A JOBBER, LAFITTE IS A NOBODY TODAY, THE PATRIOT WAS A ONE HIT WONDER. THEY MAY HAVE HAD GREAT MATCHES WITH HART BUT DOESNT CHANGE THE FACT KEVIN NASH IS STILL THE BIGGER STAR OUTTA THE FOUR AND HAD MORE SUCCESS THAN THE OTHERS.

  27. Steven Jackson says:

Good listing, some great matches which I’ve been waiting to see on here. I’m saddened there is no Hart Foundation vs, British Bulldogs match, as well as there being no match against Randy Savage which was rumoured. However, I’m pleased Owen has got a couple of matches, so thats always good. I’d say that the Final Four 4 Way will be on “The Best of IYH” but if not I luckily own it on Tagged Classics. A great DVD which I can’t wait to buy and enjoy. =)

  28. Anan says:

A lot of these matches are on TV shows or PPV’s that people can easily watch on youtube on decent quality. The match with Taker at MSG and Austin in South Africa are the exceptions as far as I’m concerned as I’ve never seen the match with Austin on youtube and the match with Taker is bad quality and out of sync.

It’s still a set worth buying as Bret’s one of the best ever so the fact that you can watch real wrestling anytime you want is more than worth the price of admission as this is what is sorely lacking on WWE (and TNA) these days.

  29. Anonymous says:

So what are some matches that you are surprised were left off? My list is:

    Fatal 4 Way
vs Austin at Revenge of the Taker
    anything vs DDP
    vs Shamrock on Raw 1997
    vs Luger August 1998 Nitro
with Bulldog vs Owen and Bob Backlund Action Zone 1995

  30. Reality CHeck says:

Not exactly a stacked DVD, but it’s still quite good.

I know I’m DEFINITELY buying it now that they included the Ric Flair November 1991 match. It’s also great to see the Steve Austin South Africa match and nice they included the Stampede Dynamite Kid, as well as the Andre match. So it’s a nice balanced set in that there’s something top notch on each disc.

  31. Anonymous says:

It’s a shame his match with the Rock on the March 31 1997 Raw wasn’t included.

  32. Anonymous says:

I’m surprised that Vader is on here. Bret has said he didn’t like working with him. Good to see him, though, since Vader is almost never on WWE DVDs for some reason.

    • John says:

As for Vader, I am guessing Bret picked that match for the fans since most of the fans wanted Vader on WWE releases and the fans got their wish

    • Brad Attitude says:

The last time fans saw vader on a wwe dvd/bluray was the Best of Clash of the Champions.

  33. Ryan says:

I wish his match against Bockwinkel from Stampede was there. Still pretty good overall.
Too bad none of those cage matches from 87 with the Bulldogs were taped. I was hoping for a real hidden gem like that.

  34. rohfan81 says:

total awesomness the matches with dynamite and tiger mask will be well worth it

  35. Anonymous says:

This listing proves that Tagged Classics do not count as unreleased.

    • Anonymous says:

…but Anthologies do count. That means that outside of IYH matches, the only WWE PPV match left is the first round match vs Razor Ramon at KOTR 1993. Some or all of the remaining IYH matches could be coming on the IYH set. Those matches are:

vs Diesel Feb 96(although Bret has said he doesn’t like this title reign)
      vs Sid Dec 96
      4 way Feb 97
vs Austin Apr 97 (shocked that this has never been released!)
with Bulldog vs Patriot and Vader

  36. Anonymous says:

i wish they included the final four way from in your house

    • Anonymous says:

Yeah! I thought that would be a shoe-in. Oh well, maybe there will be a second volume.

    • John says:

That match might be on Best of Your House

    • John says:

Great cover art, I hope that is the real cover art!

I am pleased to see Owen vs Bret from Raw and Bret & British Bulldog vs Owen and Jim on there

The match listing is solid! I can not wait to pick it up!

      • StaggerLeeLover says:

wow. that is definitely not “great cover art”… if that was actual it would be embarrassing.

        • John says:

          How is it embarrassing?

          • SmokeyTheCatofcowboyhart says:

It’s unpleasing to the eye. It’s uncreative and amatuer looking. Also, the font sucks. The DVDs have been getting pretty good covers lately. Let’s hope this finished product follows suit.

            • Daniel Bee says:

It’s temporary art created quick for this post because we had the matches ready to reveal, but WWE is yet to finish/release the cover. It really doesn’t need examining because it’s NOT the official art.

  37. Anonymous says:

Only 23? I was really hoping for more….oh well, it’s still good.

    • Mabel says:

was also hoping for more matches too. his first dvd set in 2005 had like 18 matches while this dvd has 19 total, not to mention disc 2 only features FIVE matches only. might just borrow this from a friend if and when they pick it up.

      • SRB says:

I was hoping for more matches too, but I think the set does a good job with the general chronology of his career. Very surprised to see only 2 Hart Foundation matches. If anything, I think they could’ve done more there.

    • John says:

Yeah, I thought it would have more than 25 matches, well, 23 matches is not bad though

  38. SRB says:

So much rare stuff here that I didn’t even know some of it happened. Never in a million years did I ever think I’d see a WWE DVD featuring Lafitte, Hakushi, or the Twin Towers. Great selections there and Bret is one of the few people I could listen to speak all day. I love the way he talks about the business and his experiences so I’m actually looking forward to those pieces on the set. I think there are some classics there too with Flair, Undertaker and Bam Bam, nice to see those made the cut. Very excited to grab this.

  39. john peterson says:

    Day 1 purchase for sure.

  40. Anonymous says:

Looks like a great list of matchs

  41. CS says:

Only wish the Tiger Mask match had alternate commentary

  42. ck says:

Great set, even though I wished it included his match against Isaac Yankem in a steel cage.

  43. neverAcquiesce says:

Was hoping for more ’97 stuff, but this is rock solid. I’m stoked to have the KOTR Diesel match finally make it.

  44. Hbk says:

Negative. Release the in your house matches!!!!!!!!

    • Dave says:

There is a Best of In Your House set coming out in a few months. Its not smart business wise to release a lot of IYH matches on this set when they have a dedicated release in a few months.

  45. Vincenzzzzzo says:

Looks like a great DVD set. Blu-ray version is a must, of course. I’m happy the IYH match with The Patriot is on there, but I kind of hope its on Best of IYH too, actually.

  46. Lawrence says:

Looks great! Will definitely be picking this one up!

  47. Popeye says:

Loooooooks amazing. Am all over this. Great exclusive WWEDVDNEWS.

  48. charlie f says:

Wow looks awesome! Cant wait for the blu ray! A lot of interesting matches on there.

  49. Mr Z says:

Looks really good. I’ll definitely be buying this one. I’m glad the KOTR 94 match and the IYH Pirate match are on there. A bunch of great matches on here.

  50. Dave says:

Looks great! finally the classic with Diesel from KOTR 94 made it.

  51. At least there’s no 2010 footage on here!

  52. jeff copeland says:

thats good kinda wished for that final 4 match from feb 97 but meh u know other then that good matches maybe 2 more wcws would of been nice but over all good dvd

    • Dave says:

Looks like its being saved for best of IYH set and other rare gems. They only have two on this set.

      • jeff copeland says:

yea i hope its on the in your house dvd cause that match really brought back vader since he got buried at summerslam 96 like i would of like to see bret vs page from world war 3 98 for us title its a goofy match but i liked it but this is good dvd and for once i AM ACUALLY HAPPY WITH THIS SITE LOL i know shocking
