Brentwood School Reviews
Rating 4.25 out of 5 91 reviews
Once getting to college, I found an even greater appreciation for how well prepared I was, academically, emotionally and socially. I went to a top 20 university, and could not believe how unprepared so many students were, in particular, academically.
I am a current parent at Brentwood School, as well as an alumni. Brentwood’s student population has become far more diverse, in particular the elementary school. It’s hard for me to comprehend how Brentwood could be ranked below so many Los Angeles schools that have far worse SAT/ACT scores, worse college placement and offer far lighter curriculums. Academically, the curriculum at Brentwood is far more challenging and prepares its students for college far more than at Oakwood, Campbell Hall, Marymount, Buckley, and many other schools on this list, some of which I’ve never even heard of. Whoever is handling these rankings clearly has no idea what these schools are actually like.
Like any organization, there's always room for improvement. I think at the top of the list would be diversity. While I know they feel it's a diverse community, I think it's relative. My previous school was 57% diverse, which was great. I think the diversity should also include socio-economic diversity. The teachers are great. The school setting is lovely, but we need more diversity... hands down.
