I am going to add to the pile and say I'm also one of those people who only shops at Breakwater.
No one beats their customer service and their care for the product like Breakwater. You throw on top of that you don't pay taxes with the card.
If I can say one more caveat or reason to renew your medical card?
That card is also an insurance policy in a way. What I mean by that is if you get into a car accident or get hurt at work or something happens. That card makes it a lot harder for insurance companies to find some loophole not to pay out or help out in said claim.
Am not condoning driving while high or being at work while high but we all know insurance companies suck and if they could find a way to screw you over they will. With that card, it just adds another layer of protection to you.
So ya, renew the card and just shop at Breakwater you will not be disappointed.
Also some job protection included, better parking, faster lines and less tax.
Also you can legally smoke in public.
Nobody in NJ does it like BW. They actually seem to care about their products.
Dude my buddy use to work there and then worked somewhere else before he left. At breakwater he said if you drop a bud on the floor it's automaticly done and not being sold to no one its trash but the other place they were dropping shit on the floor and selling that to folks. Somewhere down south I don't remember the name but yeah it sounds like they definitely give a shit compared to every where else
I'd love to take a peek at BW's grow. I'd take a snapshot. Last I searched I found video on CL's grow. You could see the immature plants hanging in the background. They'd drop a bud in a pile of Covid and still sell it.
I renewed my card just for breakwater. They will have deals on 4/20 or the entire week for 4/20. Hope it’s $75 off an ounce and $25 off 4 packs of gummies 🤞🏼

I feel the same, had 3 strains of top shelf stuff from Vegas recently and BW is right up there with the best, imho.
People who say breakwater is expensive must only be buying ultra deals from other dispos because apples to apples breakwater is cheaper. it’s even cheaper vs rec You save $24 every quarter you buy at Breakwater ($105.75) vs at Zen Leaf ($130.35). You’d need to buy 5.625 quarters (1.4 oz) a year to break even to the $135 spent on a renewal. (It’s even cheaper now that’s it’s $10)

The difference is zenleaf and ayr are local to alot of us. so 20$ of gas later and hours of driving isn’t worth it after all is said and done
I totally get you and I’m not arguing that everyone go to breakwater. Just that breakwater product costs less than most recreational product. Travel costs and time are something that each person decides on

What effects are you needing? There is not a bad choice on the menu, and take advantage of the 1st time 20% off. That is the one and only time you will be given a blanket discount unless you qualify for others, and they do stack. Also they are REALLY helpful so don’t be afraid to spend some extra time asking the bud tender. You won’t have people rolling their eyes at you for asking either.

Compared to literally all of the MSO products available in the state.
I just started going to BW, and it blows every thing else out of the water.
The carts and Rosin carts are 100x better than any rec I had.
The flower is really good, amazing flavors. The best tasting flower by far.
It is more expensive, however I feel like for the carts its worth it. super power full and super tasty.
53.75 an 8th is not more expensive. Can’t buy any other quality stuff for less than 60-65 out there. And they have a rewards program now
The flower is okay for the price but $100 for a one gram cart is nuts 🥜
They just had a sale on all there carts not long ago. 100 for any other cart is nuts but for a breakwater cart it's pretty justified in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I think it should be at least 10 to 20 bucks cheaper at a minimum but it's definitely a really good quality that is clean compared to everywhere else using added terpenes

Dang. Breakwater is the closest dispo to me but don’t have a med card. Reading this thread is really making me consider getting one. How are those med card places I see advertised at dispos? Is there a best one?
You will rarely find better than BW in the NJ legal market for $55 an eighth before discounts, rewards, specials/sales. Should be less than $100 per year to maintain your medical card too.
If you have high tolerance, you’ll find yourself used to it quick.

Without a doubt the best products in the state. They also have spotlight sales on different strains each week and a very good rewards program.
Literally the only real stuff in NJ.
Breakwater is the gold standard and definitely worth keeping a med card for. But Crops flower has been a pleasant surprise for me so far.

Unpopular opinion but I want to voice or because not many people agree with me.... But they aren't THAT much better than the other products.
They are definitely marginally better.
But the difference between breakwater and mids is negligible compared to the difference between anything you can buy in NJ, bw included, and top notch medical weed like from some of those Maine growers.
Unless you live very close to one of the breakwaters, I don't think it's worth it

The quality difference between kind tree and breakwater is negligible.
You can get a quad of kind tree for 90. You can't get a quad of breakwater for less than 105.

Yes, there is better flower out there then BW’s, just not in NJ. But calling their stuff mids is more than a bit hyperbolic. And the OP was asking about other NJ dispensaries and how they compare.
Also....I live 50 minutes from the closest breakwater.

Kind Tree is consistently decent in this state and I can go to a rec dispensary for 10-15% off to get it, only ten minutes from me.
So for me, Breakwater is not, nor has it ever been, worth it.
Hey, I can understand why you stay local, but you shouldn’t have to hate on BW to justify it. I mean I definitely buy from other sources as well, BW’s prices are high AF, but I have to respect the quality of their products.
But in my experience, their quality has been inconsistent.
I bought banana puddintain twice, over a year apart, and both times it smelled like hay and was so dry you wouldn't need a grinder to crush it. The nugs were also not thick and dense It didn't get me high.
AK47 same thing. I thought those nugs were shaped interestingly but again, dry, undense, hay.
I had slightly better luck with Pie Eyed, Dead Head Haze, and Blue and Cream. Those had good smell to them and they looked a bit better (but underwhelming effects)
Sundae Driver looked good but that was it.
My experiences shopping there tell me not to go back.
I'm willing to drive for quality. I used to drive 35-40 minutes to harmony twice a month.
Breakwater benefits from being the only independent grower in town... But not because their quality is good, because everyone wants their quality to be good.
I actually said they were marginally BETTER than mids - which is the truth.
Rhythm brownie Scout fucked me up last night.
A breakwater strain has never fucked me up. Not even the strains of theirs that I have positive things to say about. Not Pie Eyed, not Blue and Cream, not dead head haze. Those ones didn't smell like hay when I had them and they felt ok when I smoked them.... But I wouldn't call them great.
Harmony back in the day was leaps and bounds better than Breakwater.
I've never had anything from BW that was anything like that first Donny Burger drop, or even like old school Nepali Queen.
My honest opinion of breakwater on a scale from 1-10 is 6.5.
I couldn't give any other operating dispensary in NJ a score that high.
I'm just being honest and not putting something on a pedastal it doesn't deserve to be on.
There is a difference between getting fucked up and getting high. I can find budget thca weed online that will fuck me up more than BW flower. But I haven’t found an option that gets me as high as BW flower. Something like Kush IV gets me every time, and I have not had a better (more potent) strain in NJ.
I definitely don’t put them on a pedestal, And have always been critical of their pricing, especially with their concentrates. But they do grow the best flower in NJ.

I've had kush iv and kush viii and my experiences have differed greatly from yours.

breakwater is good but still has the same issues as other brands dry weed low potency etc
