I have just about every single Sarah Vaughan CD. She's my favorite singer, and this is one of my favorite records by her. I just love it and I've been listening to it since high school. I read a biography of Sarah (actually the only one existing), and she apparently was not especially happy with this record. I don't know why because it's beautiful and she really sings Brazillian music well (unlike Blues, which, in my opinion, she did not sing well). It's also great to hear Milton Nascimento and people like, Siedah Garrett singing backing vocals. A real treat. So many gems on here, like Photograph,and others.

Brazilian Romance is, as the title suggests, Sarah's (continuing) flirt with Brazilian music, and this Columbia release sadly was one of her last recordings. The choice of songs could hardly have been better, only larger. It's a good production (minus the mock-acoustic piano), it sounds great, Sarah sounds great (so mature, so there); the players - well, see the following list:
