Bird

Film Director

Bird’s return to animation with 2018’s “Incredibles 2” was a smashing success, taking in more than $1.24 billion worldwide — giving his films a collective take of more than $3.5 billion — and earning him an Oscar nod for best animated feature, along with a slew of other nominations. It was also a return to form after 2015’s “Tomorrowland,” his first box-office disappointment following a string of massive hits (“Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” “Ratatouille,” “The Incredibles”) and his only film not to receive overwhelmingly positive reviews. Bird is currently working on an original musical project for Sony featuring 20 minutes of animation with composer Michael Giacchino, who has scored all his features save for his beautiful 1999 debut, “The Iron Giant.”
