Jang Byeong-Tae (Im Si-Wan) is a high school student in Onyang, South Chungcheong Province. He is bullied at his school. He wishes that the bullying would stop. One night, his family suddenly moves to Buyeo, which is located in the same province. At this time, there is a rumor spreading among the students at Jang Byeong-Tae’s new school that a guy, who is the best fighter in Asan and has the nickname White Tiger, will transfer to their school.

On Jang Byeong-Tae’s first day at his new school, he gets out of a police car. The students mistakenly believe that Jang Byeong-Tae must be White Tiger. He gets involved with three other students there: Park Ji-Yeong (Lee Sun-Bin) is a high school student with the nickname of black spider, Jung Gyeong-Tae (Lee Si-Woo) is a high school student known for fighting well, and Kang Seon-Hwa (Kang Hye-Won) is a female student popular among the male students.

This is my first time seeing Lee su bin. Wow she is really gorgeous. Her acting is really impressive. The story is really impressive. I will recommend this drama to all who like to watch youth dramas.

Karia Dec 26 2023 11:42 am I solely thinks byeong tae have a lot of chemistry with seon hwa compared to black widow. Even in the end of eps 10, they can't kiss when byeong tae saw seon hwa. I agreed to that scene. Seon hwa is a bad b*tch but its not wrong for byeong tae to fall for her. She is a standard for 80an girl. Not a gangster like black widow. So far i just agreed they being a friend to protect each other, but not for couples. First eps is quite boring but ep6 onwards is a roller coaster! Love the ost!

fresh theme, with underwhelming yet brilliant cast, ultra real/believable story, not forget to superb acting from everyone. really really well done

Ryunami Dec 25 2023 2:22 am Each episode of the show is engaging and it never bores you even for a minute. The setting of the show in the 1980s is quite believable. It actually gives the feel of the 80s. The styling and setting are very appropriate for the times of the 80s. The music also helps to give you authentic vibes of the 80s.

The first five episodes were hilarious but episode 6 took an unexpected turn, shifting from joy to tragedy. Despite the roller coaster, it kept its comedic vibe, making me switch between worries and laughter. Ep 9 & 10 both are very satisfying though Seonhwa got away just pretty easy. I guess her best punishment is seeing Byeong Tae dates Ji-young.

Im Siwan's outstanding acting, seamlessly transitioning between comedy and emotional depth deserves every award for his portrayal of Byung Tae.

Overall I give this show 9.5 rating!

Ryunami Dec 16 2023 7:30 am Just completed the 8th ep and I enjoy the development of Byeong tae's character; ep 1 till 7 we see that his character from at the bottom of the food chain suddenly rises to the top, finally back at the bottom again and in ep 8 with the help from the Black Widow, he will try to get his revenge.

My favourite character in this drama is definitely Ji-yeong, the Black Widow who is also Byeong tae's neighbour. I watched Lee Sun bin in Work Later Drink Now series and she's even funnier as Ji yeong who can do the side kicks very well. The show will end with 10 episodes and with the remaining 2 eps I wonder how Ji yeong who has a huge secret crush over Byeong tae guides him in his revenge.

Tim Dec 14 2023 1:34 am Byeongtae isn’t a perfect admirable main character and he’s described as a ‘loser’ . He’s just a high school student who just want to live a normal life but no. His actions and decisions are just the results of him being a target of bullying all his life. Siwan even said that out of all the roles he played Byeongtae has the lowest IQ and that’s very evident in most of his actions especially his infatuation towards seonhwa. He grabbed every opportunity just to get away with bullying and not get beaten. He always wanted to tell that he’s not the real white tiger but always unsuccessful. In my opinion, it’s a very well-written drama, the pacing is also nice. I just hope for a satisfying ending, when this happens it may be one of the best kdrama this year, and probably gonna win awards. Siwan shines so bright in this show.

Ep 5 or 6 is like a new show, what happened suddenly. Had thought that tiger of asan would be a nice guy but he is the vilest scum. It feels he knows how bad that girl is and is flirting her like she does.

But whatever, byeong tae shouldn't have injured those guys, also after that fight when gyeong tae makes bum tae fight that guy in washroom, bum tae never hits back even once. Dunno where this show will head, he will learn fighting from jiyeong or what but ep 6 was suddenly so horrific.

I think I understand byeong tae, defo lying and faking identity was wrong and shouldn't have done but he has been bullied since his childhood, and if we see when he was considered leader he led his school well.

But it is also his mistake that things went downhill, he shouldn't have sent guys to beat up tiger of asan because of the girl, the other guy was still being nice despite everything but after that he became full on cray, so he messed it up too now that guy is full on vile. He also knew he is a good fighter so dunno why he sent guys to beat him. Now whole school will be miserable because of money he is extorting.

This drama should have dropped at once. Will there be another season?

Ji Dec 11 2023 3:27 am @Hoon, Baekho is short for "Baek horang" which in English is White Tiger. In the drama, they mostly use the name Baekho to refer to Byungtae, I was referring to the real Baekho who is Gyeongtae. Got it?

He's kinda cute when he got amnesia. But I guess up to this point, he's just broken. Now I don't think I will even hope that Bumtae will magically have a power to turn things around. I mean, in the regular drama he might. He could learn from Jiyoung and at some point those who are afraid of Baekho could turn their backs on him because he's such a mean character. But I guess I'm just gonna see where the last 4 episodes will take me.
