Should we keep it?

Seeking Advice

Hi! I’m new here. So my son was just given a Red Eared Slider and just loves it! It’s a tiny baby right now. I also have collected frogs and turtles since I was little and love them! (Figurines, stickers, other shadow box items). My only issue is I’m pregnant and my son (7yo) always puts his hands in his mouth. Obviously I he needs to wash his hands if he handles it but again, he’s 7. There is so much info online I can’t make heads or tails. Should I be worried/paranoid of it making us sick or is the internet trying to scare me? I should also add we have other reptiles (snakes and a dragon). I feel fine handling them but so much stresses about the turtles and salmonella. So to the experts, should I release it or is it likely fine and I’m over thinking this? Do they carry more risk or is it just a possibility like any other and should just practice basic hygiene?
