Bowie State University has left me thoroughly disappointed with its dysfunctionality and lack of organization. From the chaos of class registrations to the nightmare of housing selection, the experience has been nothing short of frustrating. Recently, I experienced the incompetence of the housing department, where they initially allowed me to select a house only to inform me the next day that they were full. This level of inconsistency and lack of discipline is simply mind boggling.
It's clear that the administration at BSU lacks professionalism and accountability. With an acceptance rate of 87% and a graduation rate of 17%, it's clear that there are systemic issues that need attention. Students should not have to endure unnecessary stress and incompetence on top of their workload.
Potential students beware, as BSU may not provide the supportive and organized environment necessary for academic success.

I think the school is very athletically and aesthetically oriented. This makes it hard for those of us in majors related to other disciplines feel unseen. I wish the school would focus more on the comfortability of the students attending, the affordability as it is an HBCU, and create changes with the incorporation of ideas from the student body.
My experience while a student at Bowie State University was very positive. I felt connected to my professors, they took a real interest in my overall success. As an alumnus, I can still call and email my former professors and get advice from them.
