About
This market is one of London’s oldest and largest food markets, with over 100 delicatessens, butchers, fishmongers, and cheesemakers selling fresh produce, meats, artisanal delicacies, and more. It's where locals come to do their grocery runs, and where travelers can come to try some of the best British food in a historic setting. Join a food and market tour of London to make sure you don't miss any of the best stalls. It gets busy on weekend afternoons, and some traders aren't open on all days—typically on limited market days early in the week—so be sure to plan ahead. – Tripadvisor

Address
Neighborhood: Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

    Borough Market in June
We spent and afternoon in borough market. We sampled a bunch of different foods and drinks from different stands. We tried the macaroni and cheese, from The Bath Dairy, Humble Crumble, juice from the juice stand, shawarma, a few items from Joli Malaysian food. It was fun that there was such a variety but it was very crowded. Worth the wait though.

    Must visit!
What an amazing place this was. It’s huge. Every kind of food you can imagine. Lots of stuff to peruse. We had Bao, Chinese dumplings, Bread Ahead donuts and fresh squeezed watermelon juice. I wish it had later opening hours. Next time we will go earlier in the day.

    Lots of delicious food
Been here for lunch a few times when working in the area. There’s lots of selection of different cuisines and all the food I tasted there was delicious. It’s especially nice to sit on the green nearby with all the local alkies when you eat, very entertaining

Foodies, gourmands and farmer market lovers paradise.
We were staying close by so we visited Twice! Loads of choice between fresh produce, cooked foods, bakeries, meat & cheeses and drinks! Rabot has amazing hot chocolate. Get the cream on top! Bread Ahead doughnuts are as good as they look and the savory breads are very good too. There are so many delicious looking choices. I bought a cute borough market tote and we took a few things with us to enjoy later. Go early and have a sampler breakfast.

Beat the crowds, go early or at off peak times during the week..
The Borough Market is a London Institution. It's within a stone's throw of London Bridge and other sites. It can be a little deceiving though. There is the main section but then there are two other sections that are harder to get to. Always best to note where the queues are for food. And I would recommend NOT going during peak times on Saturday's from 11am onwards.. Go early to beat the crowds... Excellent produce from many different local to London and the UK and beyond producers.

A wonderful experience if you love food
Can't miss this iconic London Market if you love food. Many stalls of fresh produce, meats, seafood, cheese, baked goods and more! Be sure to check the hours before you visit. They are usually closed on Mondays.

    Fun at Borough Market!
We thoroughly enjoyed roaming the market, seeing the food displays and the various vendors selling food to eat. First we had the paella which was delicious. There are very few places to sit, though, so eating standing up was a challenge but worth it. For our next dish, we found seats at a counter at Padella for outstanding homemade pasta. I wanted to try the award-winning fish and chips but the lines were too long and they extended into a street. We have been to London many times over the years and I am shocked that we didn't know this was here! We will definitely return. It was easy to take a bus from the Holborn area where we were staying. Even on a rainy day it was fun!

So fun! So much to do
Crowded but ridiculously fun market with lots of great food choices. The coffee was excellent and so was the Grilled Cheese Toastie. I wish we could have eaten every meal here. This market does not disappoint.

    Jumping but loved it
Hubby wanted to do on our visit to London. Place was absolutely jumping but what a place. Superb market & food stalls to suit all! Too much choice as each food place looked better than the previous one.

Borough Market is vibrant & quirky - it’s a great place to walk around and find some unique food items from all over the world. It also has a few nice restaurants and bars nearby if you fancy stopping for a drink or a bite to eat.

In the summer you can buy street food from the market & sit along the river bank of the Thames with views of the city it’s beautiful.

When we visited it wasn’t overly busy, but was quite expensive and some of the things were not worth the money.

Overall it’s a great place to visit if you’re looking to explore for an hour or so.

We were eagerly looking forward to grabbing some lunch I'm Borough Market with our three children and it didn't disappoint. The bustle was great and there were lots of 'covid wardens' around ensuring good queuing etc. We wished we'd gone s little earlier as our children were hungry when we got there so we mainly got to look round the street food/hot food area. They had pasta which was a bit of a disappointment. We had Mexican which was delicious. My partner wanted an alcoholic drink and on a quick sweep round one of the only ones I could find was a coder place and opted for medium dry New Forest cider. It unfortunately tasted like homebrew and my husband thought it was pretty unpleasant (as did I) - definitely an acquired taste and we've sampled quite a lot of cider over the years! The seating was fab and the sun was shining. Overall we had a great experience.

You can buy food originating virtually from any european country there but it is over priced, exposed to the elements, bugs and flies. Today Saturday at 12.00 PM was overcrowded on the verge of heaving and really unpleasant if you hate crowds. Yes, it is very trendy and atmospheric but once is enough.

Despite it being my second time visiting Borough Market, the experience was equally splendid as my initial attendance. My father and I went on a Monday afternoon and although it was less busy than our first Friday encounter; the atmosphere still buzzed with the hustle and bustle of those around us. From hot dishes like paella and curries, to a plethora of freshly baked cakes to satisfy any sweet tooth; there were plenty of opportunities to try something unfamiliar to our routine meal deals.
After queuing for around twenty minutes for a lovely little stall selling bagels, we both tucked into a rather generous salt beef bagel, complete with mustard and gherkins. However, it is worthy to note that the prices are higher than those from your typical supermarket, yet perfectly justifiable; I must admit it was both refreshing and pleasing to have the opportunity to support small businesses during these difficult times.
The local businessmen were all polite and friendly; keen to engage in trivial small talk despite the stress of sometimes single-handedly operating their stalls. I revisited a stall selling fresh olives and the lady was more than willing to permit me to try a mouth-watering chilli and garlic olive before making my selection. She was even accommodating to my father who struggled with the flavour of the heavily laden chilli olive and gave him some humus to soothe the burn.
I will definitely be returning to this delightful market and should I ever find myself working in the local area in the years to come, I would not be surprised if I became a regular customer to these stalls!
Highly and happily recommended.

Travelling with my nephew from Australia, he was a huge seafood fan and wanted to experience anything and everything in the food range. Borough Market was right up his alley!
I have to say it was pretty impressive - I am not a seafood fan, but I loved watching him taste and enjoy. The fresh fruit and vegetables were displayed beautifully and there was pretty much anything and everything that you could ever want to eat.
What I struggled with is that you eat on your feet or on the run in a bustling market 0 they make the most of their space for retail stalls, but not much for the comfort of customers!

The bustling market is lined with restaurants around the edges and has a lot of food and produce stalls all around. I did notice most of the stalls were food orientated so it is a great place to come by if you're peckish or hungry and looking for something to eat. There is so much variety available and plenty of food trucks and permanent stalls that sell a lot of different things.
I managed to find a traditional pork pie place, Mrs King's. It was cold and I really wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it but it was delicious. The crumbly, crispy crust covers the pork and jelly laden filling. I think it is something to try once. Also had the scotch eggs and doughnuts which were all quite tasty. The only problem is the lack of seating but you can normally find a quiet corner somewhere to enjoy your finds.

Visited Borough Market with a group of us. FANTASTIC food options from literally so so so many different cuisines. Catering to vegan, vegetarian as well. We had the most delicious toastie we have ever had, also an amazing sausage roll from The Ginger Pig. The juices in the middle of the market were also awesome, and yep had the blood orange lemonade as well as the mint lemonade and they were so incredibly refreshing. The fruit markets had cheap and great quality fresh strawberries and raspberries as well as other great quality produce. Would definitely recommend visiting this market and make sure you share food with someone and try a number of different things. The only negative was the minimal seating and long toilet line, but I guess that just shows how popular and amazing the Market is!

I came here with my boyfriend in search of a Scotch egg. Unfortunately, we couldn't find said Scotch egg but we were still satisfied with our visit to this wonderful market. It was particularly magical at Christmas time. We spent most of the time wandering around, browsing, soaking up the atmosphere. We bought a fruity drink from somewhere, coffee from a Colombian coffee stand, a pain au chocolat and breakfast from Maria's Market Cafe. There is something for everyone, with fish, wine, cheese, cocktails, fruit, sweet treats and plants...all a bit pricey but you can find the odd bargain if you look hard enough.

Something for everyone here, whatever their taste. Good place to spend an hour or two and leave feeling stuffed having tried a range of world cuisines. Can't remember the name but I recommend visiting the stall selling seafood wraps in the outside area near the terraced seating. Some prices are a bit silly (sorry but I can't bring myself to pay £4.50 for one doughnut) but generally it's not ridiculously over the top by London standards.

Unfortunately because of the ongoing situation Borough Market is slowly starting to lose its charm. There are some hidden gems such as great coffee stalls, empanadas, wraps, doughnuts and fresh produce. However, the prices have unsurprisingly gone up, portions have gone down and the guards are seriously unpleasant. I know its their job to ensure everyone is protected but they really do behave on a high power trip. I do really feel for the vendors and hope in the future when things improve Borough Market will one day revive its beautiful charm again.
