Joan Fontaine is "Born to Be Bad" 1950
Joan Fontaine plays a rare villain, who pretends to be as demure as Joan's more typical roles, in 1950's "Born to be Bad." Fontaine's passive/aggressive schemer is more like Eve Harrington! Strong supporting cast includes Zachary Scott, Robert Ryan, Mel Ferrer, & Joan Leslie, all of whom Joan's shady siren tries to manipulate. This film noir soap is campy fun, my equally fun look: https://ricksrealreel.blogspot.com/2024/03/the-two-faces-of-joan-fontaine-born-to.html
Here's a funny snippet of Carol Burnett's spoof, "Raised to Be Rotten!"

I'm not sure I'd call this "campy" but it's a good movie. Thought Fontaine was pretty darn good in this role.
This film is an underrated gem!...sort of a poor man's "All About Eve"...Joan is wonderful in the part!!!
Joan Leslie transcends in this movie, too bad her scenes were limited! Fontaine was so campy and bitchy, not very believable in this role. But it’s a good movie
I just saw her in Ivy......she's also a villain....it was really good and I recommend
