Bonnie Raitt releases her first studio album in six years on Friday.

And what good timing: On the same day, she’ll perform in concert at Foxwoods.

Fans can expect Raitt to break out songs from the new release, titled “Just Like That …,” during the show. She’ll no doubt be fired up about the album — and maybe about her most recent accolade as well. She received a lifetime achievement award from the Grammys earlier this month, which is certainly a deserved honor.

Raitt, now 72, had her biggest hit with the 1989 album “Nick of Time,” but she has been a consistently great artist throughout her career.

Raitt recently told The Guardian, “My gameplan was just to follow my blues and jazz exemplars. Stay true to your art, do the best shows you can, keep going, don’t worry about commercial success, and when you’re 70 years old, people will still want to come and see you.”

    Mission accomplished.
