#8 in Best Bed Sheets of 2024 (tie)
The Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set is one of the brand’s bestsellers. These luxury sheets are made from 100% long-staple organic cotton, which is softer, smoother, and more durable than short-staple cotton. According to the brand, the Signature sheets get softer after each wash, and professional reviewers agree, describing the feel as cozy and buttery soft.
These sheets have a sateen weave, resulting in a slight sheen and heavier feel than other types of sheets, like percale. This set is also on the pricier side since long-staple cotton is less common than short-staple cotton, so it does require a bigger budget.
What’s Included?
This sheet set includes one flat sheet, one fitted sheet with a roomy 17-inch pocket, and two pillowcases (for full, queen, king, and California king sizes). The twin and twin XL sets have only one pillowcase, and the split king set includes two twin XL fitted sheets. You can add two pillowcases to your set for $58 to $68, depending on which size you get.
Materials
The Signature Hemmed Sheet Set is made from 100% organic, long-staple cotton in a sateen weave, which gives it a smoother finish and slightly silky feel. Boll & Branch says the sheets are designed to get softer after each wash.
The sheets are Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex certified, the cotton is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)-certified, and Boll & Branch works with family-owned farms and independent organizations to ensure quality, traceability, and sustainability.
Feel
These sheets have a luxuriously soft feel, which professional reviewers compared to what you get at a five-star hotel. Thanks to the sateen weave, they’re smooth, comfortable, and get softer with every wash.
Professional reviewers also say the sheets have a lightweight design that makes for an airy and breathable feel, yet they insulate well and make you feel cozy and warm.

The queen-size version of the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set retails for $278. This includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. If you want two extra matching pillowcases, you can add them to your set for an additional $58. This brings the total for the six pieces to $336.
Since this is considered to be a luxury set, it’s on the pricier side. For comparison, the sheet sets in our ratings range from $22 to $389, with the average price falling around $193.
The Boll & Branch Signature set’s fabric is constructed from 100% organic, long-staple cotton that’s made with a four-over-one-under weave. Long-staple cotton is rarer than short-staple cotton, and the brand states that the cotton it uses accounts for less than 3% of the cotton in the world, making it more expensive to produce. However, it’s more durable and has a softer feel that gets even softer over time.
The cotton Boll & Branch uses is grown without exposure to harmful chemicals or toxins and certified by third-party companies, including the GOTS, Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex, and Fair Trade USA.

Sleepers who prefer wrinkle-free sheets

The Amazon Basics Microfiber Sheet Set is the least expensive option in our Best Bed Sheets of 2024rating. These sheets are manufactured in a Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex certified factory but they’re made with 100% polyester microfiber as opposed to organic cotton. Microfiber tends to trap heat more than cotton. If you’re a hot sleeper or you live in a warm climate, you might want to opt for sheets with a more breathable material.
The pocket on the Amazon Basics fitted sheet isn’t as deep as the one on the Boll & Branch sheets, so it’s not meant for extra-deep mattresses. However, if you’re on a tighter budget and looking for sheets that are soft and add some warmth, these will work for you.

Best for:
Budget-conscious shoppers
Those shopping for a secure fitted sheet
People with taller mattresses
Not recommended for:
Sleepers who like crisp sheets
Those who prefer thin sheets
The Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set and the Threshold 400-Thread-Count Performance Sheet Set have some similarities. Both are made with cotton and hold a Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex certification. Threshold doesn’t give additional details on where the company sources its cotton, but it’s likely not long-staple cotton based on the price. Professional reviewers say the set is still soft and feels more expensive than it is, but the sheets are more wrinkly than others.
If you want cotton sheets but have a tighter budget, the Threshold sheets will likely do the job, as long as you don’t mind ironing them.

Boll & Branch sheets are available online and at limited retail stores. You can purchase the sheets directly from the brand’s website or online from Nordstrom. You can also find the sheets in-store at a handful of Nordstrom locations in Washington, California, Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, Minnesota, Michigan, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
Keep in mind that all stores may not carry the full lineup of sheets. If there’s something specific you want, it’s a good idea to call ahead first to make sure that a certain store carries it. Return policies and other fine print may also differ depending on where you buy the sheets.
Boll & Branch Return Period: 30 Days
Boll & Branch accepts returns within 30 days of delivery. If you return your sheets within this time frame, you’ll get a full refund in the form of your original payment.
To return your bed sheets, go to Returns on the brand’s website, which is located under the Customer Services section, and enter your email address and order number. From there, you’ll be prompted to enter additional information, and then you’ll get a UPS return shipping label that you can print out at home. Pack up your return in the original packaging if you can, and drop it off at a UPS box near you.
Care instructions for Boll & Branch sheets depend on the specific set. The Signature Hemmed Sheet Set is pretty low maintenance. You can wash the set on a gentle cycle with cold water and like colors. If you purchase white sheets, you can use nonchlorine bleach and other brighteners. If not, gentle liquid detergent is best.
You can also throw these sheets in the dryer if you tumble dry on medium heat. The brand says some shrinking is normal, but the sheets are made oversized to account for this.
A warm iron can also be used, but Boll & Branch recommends the following steps to avoid wrinkles:
