V&A Waterfront

V&A Waterfront is, as the name would suggest, right in the harbor with close access to one of the largest wharves.

In fact, this wharf is also the oldest working harbor in the Southern Hemisphere with a long history stretching back to the first European trading ships.

Over time the area has become a luxury neighborhood with the harbor populated by yachts and recreational boats.

The area is also quite popular with tourists as it provides easy access to the central city and is considered safe at all times.

The proximity to the harbor provides close access to boat tours and the ability to experience some of South Africa’s beautiful marine wildlife.

This can include whale watching, visiting African penguin colonies, and more. And for those interested in the history of South Africa, there is also access to boats and tours going to Robben Island.

This is the island where the former South African president, Nelson Mandela, spent most of his years in jail.

The island jail became infamous during the years of apartheid and today is a dark reminder of the history behind the now vibrant country of South Africa.

Some possible downsides include the distance from the sea. Being so close to the middle of the city has the caveat that it is no longer right on the coast.
