Terry Wogan presented the first edition of game show Blankety Blank on 18 January 1979.

Holding a strange wand-like microphone, Wogan joked with celebrity guests about the programme's cheapness - the grand prize on the first episode was a fridge freezer.

For those of you who don’t recall, members of the public fill in the blank and hope that the celebrities have said the same thing. Now you guess what the contestant said…
