Here is an overview of all class changes that went live in the second War Within Alpha build.

Druid

  • Berserk: Frenzy Berserk: Frenzy - During Berserk your combo point-generating abilities bleed the target for an additional 150% 135% of their direct damage over 8 sec.

Death Knight

  • Vampiric Aura Vampiric Aura - Your Leech is increased by 3%. While Lichborne is active, the Leech bonus of this effect is increased by 100%, and it affects 4 allies within 12 yds.

Hunter

  • Sentinel Sentinel - Your attacks have a chance to apply Sentinel on the target, stacking up to 10 times. While Sentinel stacks are higher than 3, applying Sentinel has a chance to trigger an implosion, causing a stack to be consumed on the target every sec to deal [ 26.1% 39.15% of Attack Power ] Arcane damage.

Mage

  • Frost Mage Frost Mage - Frost Mage core passive
    • Increases damage/healing by 9%: Arcane Echo, Arcane Missiles, Arcane Orb, Arcanosphere, Blast Wave, Blizzard, Comet Storm, Conflagration, Ebonbolt, Flame Patch, Flurry, Frost Bomb, Frost Nova, Frostbolt, Frozen Orb, Glacial Spike, Ice Lance, Living Bomb, Mastery: Icicles, Meteor, Nether Tempest, Ray of Frost, Snowdrift, Supernova Increases periodic damage/healing by 9%: Arcane Echo, Arcane Missiles, Arcane Orb, Arcanosphere, Blast Wave, Blizzard, Comet Storm, Conflagration, Ebonbolt, Flame Patch, Flurry, Frost Bomb, Frost Nova, Frostbolt, Frozen Orb, Glacial Spike, Ice Lance, Living Bomb, Mastery: Icicles, Meteor, Nether Tempest, Ray of Frost, Snowdrift, Supernova
  • Scorch Scorch - Scorches an enemy for [ 24.4% of Spell Power ] Fire damage. Scorch is a guaranteed critical strike and increases your movement speed by 30% for 3 sec when cast on a target below 30% health. Castable while moving.
  • Living Bomb Living Bomb - The target becomes a Living Bomb, taking [ 58.79% of Spell Power ] Fire damage over 4 sec, and then exploding to deal an additional 0 Fire damage over 2 sec, and reduced damage to all other enemies within 10 yds. Other enemies hit by this explosion also become a Living Bomb, but this effect cannot spread further.
  • Frozen Orb Frozen Orb - Launches an orb of swirling ice up to 40 yds forward which deals up to [ 226.6% 240% of Spell Power ] Frost damage to all enemies it passes through over 15 sec. Deals reduced damage beyond 8 targets. Grants 1 charge of Fingers of Frost when it first damages an enemy. Enemies damaged by the Frozen Orb are slowed by 30% for 3 sec.
  • Critical Mass Critical Mass - Your spells have a 15% 10% increased chance to deal a critical strike. You gain 20% 15% more of the Critical Strike stat from all sources.
  • Comet Storm Comet Storm - Calls down a series of 7 icy comets on and around the target, that deals up to [ 321.5% 350% of Spell Power ] Frost damage to all enemies within 6 yds of its impacts.
  • Flame On Flame On Reduces the cooldown of Fire Blast by 2 sec and increases the maximum number of charges by 1Increases the maximum number of Fire Blast charges by 2.
  • Feel the Burn Feel the Burn - Fire Blast and Phoenix Flames increase your mastery by [ 300% 200% of mas ]% for 5 6 sec. This effect stacks up to 3 times.
  • Improved Scorch Improved Scorch Casting Scorch on targets below 30% health increase the target's damage taken from you by 4% for 12 sec, stacking up to 3 times. Additionally, Scorch critical strikes increase your movement speed by 30% for 3 sec. Casting Scorch on targets below 4% health increase the target's damage taken from you by 4% for 12 sec. This effect stacks up to 2 times.
  • Controlled Destruction Controlled Destruction Pyroblast's damage is increased by 5% when the target is above 70% health or below 30% health. Damaging a target with Pyroblast increases the damage it receives from Ignite by 2%.
  • Sun King's Blessing Sun King's Blessing - After consuming 8 10 Hot Streaks, your next non-instant Pyroblast or Flamestrike cast within 30 sec grants you Combustion for 6 sec and deals 260% additional damage.
  • Fervent Flickering Fervent Flickering Ignite's damage has a 5% chance to reduce the cooldown of Fire Blast by 1 secFire Blast's cooldown is reduced by 2 sec.
  • Unleashed Inferno Unleashed Inferno - While Combustion is active your Fireball, Pyroblast, Fire Blast, Scorch, and Phoenix Flames deal 50% increased damage and reduce the cooldown of Combustion by 1.25 sec. While Combustion is active, Flamestrike deals 25% increased damage and reduces the cooldown of Combustion by 0.25 sec for each critical strike, up to 1.25 sec.
  • Convection Convection Each time Living Bomb explodes it has a 30% chance to reduce its cooldown by 2.0 sec. When a Living Bomb expires, if it did not spread to another target, it reapplies itself at 100% effectiveness. A Living Bomb can only benefit from this effect once.
  • Splintering Sorcery Splintering Sorcery - When you consume Nether Precision Tempest, conjure an Arcane Splinter that fires at your target. Arcane Splinter : Conjure raw Arcane magic into a sharp projectile that deals [ 70% of Spell Power ] Arcane damage. Arcane Splinter s embed themselves into their target, dealing [ 41.6% of Spell Power ] Arcane damage over 16 sec. This effect stacks.
  • Look Again Look Again Displacement has a 50% longer duration, 25% longer range, and leaves behind a Mirror Image. Displacement has a 50% longer duration and 25% longer range.
  • Spellfire Spheres Spellfire Spheres - Every 4 times you consume Clearcasting, conjure a Spellfire Sphere. While you're out of combat, you will slowly conjure Spellfire Spheres over time. Spellfire Sphere Increases your spell damage by 4% 2%. Stacks up to 3 times.
  • Mana Addiction Mana Addiction - Consuming Clearcasting grants you 3% Haste for 10 sec. Stacks up to 10 times. Multiple instances may overlap.
  • Memory of Al'ar Memory of Al'ar While your Arcane Phoenix is active, you gain twice as many stacks of Mana Addiction. When your Arcane Phoenix expires, it empowers you, granting Arcane Soul for 3 sec, plus an additional 1 sec for each exceptional spell it had cast. Arcane Soul : Arcane Missiles has a 100% chance to proc Clearcasting. While your Arcane Phoenix is active, you gain twice as many stacks of Mana Addiction. When your Arcane Phoenix expires, it empowers you, granting Arcane Soul for 3 sec, plus an additional 0.5 sec for each exceptional spell it had cast. Arcane Soul : Arcane Barrage costs no mana, grants Clearcasting, and generates 4 Arcane Charges.
  • Mark of the Fire Lord Mark of the Fire Lord (new) - Flamestrike and Living Bomb apply Mastery: Ignite at 100% increased effectiveness.

Monk

  • Windwalker Monk Windwalker Monk - Windwalker Monk core passive
    • Increases damage/healing by 3%: Blackout Kick, Breath of Fire, Chi Burst, Chi Wave, Crackling Jade Lightning, Eye of the Tiger, Fist of the White Tiger, Fists of Fury, Flying Serpent Kick, Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger, Press the Advantage, Rising Sun Kick, Rushing Jade Wind, Special Delivery, Spinning Crane Kick, Thunderfist, Tiger Palm, Whirling Dragon Punch Increases periodic damage/healing by 3%: Blackout Kick, Breath of Fire, Chi Burst, Chi Wave, Crackling Jade Lightning, Eye of the Tiger, Fist of the White Tiger, Fists of Fury, Flying Serpent Kick, Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger, Press the Advantage, Rising Sun Kick, Rushing Jade Wind, Special Delivery, Spinning Crane Kick, Thunderfist, Tiger Palm, Whirling Dragon Punch

  • Combat Wisdom Combat Wisdom While out of combat, your Chi balances to 2 instead of depleting to empty. Every 15 sec, your next Tiger Palm also casts Expel Harm and deals 30% additional damage. Expel Harm Brewmaster: Expel negative chi from your body, healing for [ 120% of Spell Power ] and dealing 10% of the amount healed as Nature damage to an enemy within 20 yards. Draws in the positive chi of all your Healing Spheres to increase the healing of Expel Harm. Windwalker, Mistweaver, Initial: Expel negative chi from your body, healing for [ 120% of Spell Power ] and dealing 10% of the amount healed as Nature damage to an enemy within 20 yards. Reverse Harm : Expel negative chi from your body, healing for [ 120% of Spell Power ] and dealing 10% of the amount healed as Nature damage to an enemy within 20 yards. Generates [ 120% of Spell Power + 1 ] Chi.
  • Whirling Dragon Punch Whirling Dragon Punch - Performs a devastating whirling upward strike, dealing [ 375% 525% of Attack Power ] damage to all nearby enemies and an additional [ 230% 300% of Attack Power ] damage to the first target struck. Damage reduced beyond 5 targets. Only usable while both Fists of Fury and Rising Sun Kick are on cooldown.
  • Crane Vortex Crane Vortex - Spinning Crane Kick damage increased by 10% 20% and its radius is increased by 15%.
  • Jadefire Harmony Jadefire Harmony - Enemies and allies hit by Jadefire Stomp are affected by Jadefire Brand, increasing your damage and healing against them by 12% 8% for 10 sec.
  • Glory of the Dawn Glory of the Dawn - Rising Sun Kick has a chance equal to 100% of your haste to trigger a second time, dealing [ 50% 135% of Attack Power ] Physical damage and restoring 1 Chi.
  • Thunderfist Thunderfist - Strike of the Windlord grants you 4 stacks of Thunderfist and an additional stack for each additional enemy struck. Thunderfist discharges upon melee strikes, dealing [ 350% of Attack Power ] Nature damage.
  • Drinking Horn Cover Drinking Horn Cover - The duration of Storm, Earth, and Fire is extended by 0.4 0.5 sec for every Chi you spend."
  • Xuen's Bond Xuen's Bond - Abilities that activate Combo Strikes reduce the cooldown of Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger by 0.2 0.1 sec, and Xuen's damage is increased by 10%.
  • Skytouch Skytouch Tiger Palm now has a 10 yard range. Tiger Palm also applies an effect which increases your critical strike chance by 50% 15% for 6 sec on the target. This effect cannot be applied more than once every 60 30 sec per target.
  • Heart of the Jade Serpent Heart of the Jade Serpent - Consuming causes Yu'lon to decrease the cooldown time of by 100% 75% for 8 sec.

Paladin

  • Mastery: Highlord's Judgment Mastery: Highlord's Judgment - Increases Holy damage done by 12.0%. Judgment has a 12.0% chance to blast the target with the Light, dealing [ 80% 120% of Attack Power ] Holy damage.
  • Beacon of Virtue Beacon of Virtue - Apply a Beacon of Light to your target and 4 injured allies within 30 yds for 8 sec. All affected allies will be healed for 15% of the amount of your other healing done. Your Flash of Light and Holy Light on these targets will also grant 1 Holy Power.
  • Judge, Jury and Executioner Judge, Jury and Executioner - Increases the critical strike chance of Judgment 10%Divine Storm has a 40% chance to cause your next Templar's Verdict to hit an additional 3 targets.
  • Vanguard of Justice Vanguard of Justice - Templar's Verdict and Divine Storm cost 1 additional Holy Power and deal 20% increased damageEnemies hit by Templar's Verdict take 30% increased damage from your next Divine Storm.
  • Hammerfall Hammerfall Your Holy Powers spending abilities call Templar's Verdict and Divine Storm calls down an Empyrean Hammer on a nearby enemy. While Shake the Heavens is active, this effect calls down an additional Empyrean Hammer.

Priest

  • Atonement Atonement - Power Word: Shield, Flash Heal, Renew, Power Word: Radiance, and Power Word: Life apply Atonement to your target for 15 sec. Your spell damage heals all targets affected by Atonement for 40% 35% of the damage done. Healing increased by 50% 70% when not in a raid.
  • Collapsing Void Collapsing Void Each time Penance damages or heals, Entropic Rift is expanded by 1 yd. After Entropic Rift ends, it collapses, rapidly dealing [ 120% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage up to 8 times to a random enemy, based on how many times it expanded. Each time Penance damages or heals, Entropic Rift is empowered, increasing its damage and size by 20%. After Entropic Rift ends, it collapses, dealing [ 500% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage split between all nearby enemies.

Shaman

  • Restoration Shaman Restoration Shaman - Restoration Shaman core passive
    • Increases damage/healing by 13%: 8%: Ascendance, Chain Heal, Earth Shield, Healing Rain, Healing Stream Totem, Restorative Mists, Surge of Earth, Earth Shield, Healing Rain, Healing Stream Totem, Restorative Mists, Surge of Earth, Tidebringer, Unleash Life, Wellspring
    • Increases periodic damage/healing by 13%: 8%: Ascendance, Chain Heal, Earth Shield, Healing Rain, Healing Stream Totem, Restorative Mists, Surge of Earth, Tidebringer, Unleash Life, Wellspring
  • Tempest Strikes Tempest Strikes - Stormstrike, Ice Strike, and Lava Lash have a 100% chance to discharge electricity at your target, dealing [ 35% of Attack Power ] Nature damage."
  • Ancestral Swiftness Ancestral Swiftness (new) - Your next healing or damaging spell is instant, costs no mana, and deals 10% increased damage and healing. If you know Nature's Swiftness, it is replaced by Ancestral Swiftness and causes Ancestral Swiftness to call an Ancestor to your side. (Instant, 45 sec cooldown)

Warlock

  • Soul Leech Soul Leech (new) Normal: All single-target damage done by you and your minions grants you and your pet shadowy shields that absorb 3% of the damage dealt for 15 sec, up to 5% of maximum health. Demon Skin : All single-target damage done by you and your minions grants you and your pet shadowy shields that absorb 3% of the damage dealt, up to 10% of maximum health."
  • Fel Pact Fel Pact - Reduces the cooldown of Fel Domination by 30 60 sec.
  • Grim Feast renamed to Pact of Gluttony Pact of Gluttony and changed: Drain Life now channels 30% faster and restores health 30% faster. Healthstones you conjure for yourself are now Demonic Healthstones and can be used multiple times in combat. Demonic Healthstones cannot be traded. Demonic Healthstone Instantly restores 25% health. 60 sec cooldown.
  • Withering Bolt Withering Bolt - Shadow Bolt and Drain Soul deal 7% 15% increased damage, up to 21% 45%, per damage over time effect you have active on the target.
  • Sacrolash's Dark Strike Sacrolash's Dark Strike - Corruption damage is increased by 7% 15%, and each time it deals damage any of your Curses active on the target are extended by 0.5 sec.
  • Malevolent Visionary Malevolent Visionary Darkglare increases its damage by an additional 3% for each damage over time effect active. Darkglare lasts an additional 5 sec. Increases the damage of your Darkglare by 70%. When Darkglare extends damage over time effects it also sears the target for [ 790.37% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage.
  • Kindled Malice Kindled Malice Malefic Rapture and Seed of Corruption deal an additional 4% damage. Malefic Rapture damage increased by 4%. Corruption damage increased by 10%.
  • Oblivion Oblivion (new) - Unleash wicked magic upon your target's soul, dealing [ 798% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage over 3 sec. Deals 10% increased damage, up to 30%, per damage over time effect you have active on the target. (3 sec cast, 40 yd range, costs 2 Soul Shards)
  • Shadow Embrace Shadow Embrace - Shadow Bolt applies Shadow Embrace, increasing your damage dealt to the target by 1.5% 4% for 16 sec. Stacks up to 2 times. Drain Soul : Drain Soul applies Shadow Embrace, increasing your damage dealt to the target by 1.5% 2% for 16 sec. Stacks up to 4 times.

Warrior

  • Improved Heroic Throw Improved Heroic Throw has been removed.
  • Lightning Strikes Lightning Strikes - Damaging enemies with Thunder Clap, Revenge, Raging Blow, or Execute has a 15% 25% chance to also strike one with a lightning bolt, dealing [ 40% 60% of Attack Power ] Nature damage. Lightning Strikes occur 50% more often during Avatar.
  • Ground Current Ground Current - Lightning Strikes also deal [ 20% 30% of Attack Power ] to enemies near their target. Damage reduced beyond 5 targets.
  • Thorim's Might Thorim's Might - Lightning Strikes generate 3 5 Rage. Revenge, Raging Blow, and Execute damage increased by 15%.
  • Gathering Clouds Gathering Clouds - Your attacks trigger Lightning Strikes 15% 30% more often.
  • Keep Your Feet on the Ground Keep Your Feet on the Ground - Thunder Blast reduces damage you take by 4% 8% for 5 sec.

      Blizzard has added Glyph of Jab for Monks in the War Within, making Tiger Palm strike your target with your equipped weapon!
      We've got some great news for all Monk players out there. In the War Within expansion, Blizzard has added Glyph of Jab that makes Tiger Palm strike your target with your equipped weapon, instead of your fists.

      In the past, Glyph of Jab was a minor glyph used by monks, designed to ensure that the Jab ability was executed with hands and fist animations even when non-fist weapons were equipped. You will find more details here.

      We've looked at the number of chapters of the War Within level-up campaign and compared it to Dragonflight.
      War Within Level Up Campaign
      The level-up campaign in each zone consists of 3 chapters, so you will end up with a total of 12 level-up chapters in the new expansion. You will spend roughly an hour completing the main storyline in each zone.

      Isle of Dorn (Zone 1 Level Up Questing)
      Chapter 1: Breaking Point Chapter 2: Earthen Fissures Chapter 3: The First Blow The Ringing Deeps (Zone 2 Level Up Questing)

      When we compare War Within level up chapter numbers with Dragonflight zones, the expansion shipped with a total of 15 level-up chapters spread across 4 zones:
      Waking Shores had 5 campaign chapters. Ohn'ahran Plains shipped with 4 campaign chapters. Azure Span had 4 campaign chapters. Thaldraszus shipped with 3 campaign chapters. Max-Level Campaign
      The War Within (Max Level Questing) consists of 4 chapters. The fourth campaign name is unknown at this time and Blizzard will most likely hotfix it.

      Greetings Rogues,
      This week’s Alpha build includes many changes to Class and Spec talent trees, including a handful of positional swaps, tuning changes, and a few new and redesigned talents.
      Feedback about these changes is welcome, so please post here with any notable experiences or opinions from your play in the Alpha test.
      More change will be coming over the next few weeks, focused primarily on hero talents. Deathstalker is still lurking in the shadows and will be revealed when it’s ready (sometime in the next few weeks).
      For Fatebound, more completed talents will be rolling in over time, and we have also been following gameplay and written feedback which will be cause for iterations to existing talents.
      For Trickster, we’ve been following all of your feedback, and it has generated significant internal discussion. While the core pieces will remain in place (Unseen Blade, the Fazed debuff, and a grand finish in Coup de Grace), we expect to revisit the gameplay that fuels this engine, and most notably move away from Feint being a primary applicator of Unseen Blade. Unexpected randomly-timed procs of Unseen Blade have also proven to cause trouble and are being similarly reconsidered, in addition to minor updates for other talents.

      ROGUE New Talent: Shadowheart – Leech increased by 3% while Stealthed. Acrobatic Strikes has been redesigned – Auto-attacks increase auto-attack damage and movement speed by 1% for 3 seconds, stacking up to 10%. Developer’s note: Acrobatic Strikes no longer increases the range of melee attacks. We are revisiting increased melee range talents across the game, and most are being removed. Default melee range has increased since these talents were originally created, allowing specs with increased range to attack from well outside where it appears they should be able to. Cut to the Chase moved from Assassination talent tree to baseline all specs, triggering from Envenom/Dispatch/Eviscerate. Vanish’s guaranteed stealth duration now 1.5 seconds in PvP combat (base 3 seconds). Tight Spender now reduces Energy cost of finishing moves by 6% (was 10%). Subterfuge is now a 2-point talent, effect duration 3/6 seconds. Some talents have moved locations. Without a Trace moved from Subtlety to Class tree in capstone location, replacing Shadow Dance. Nightstalker has been removed. Assassination New Talent: Rapid Injection – Envenom deals 10% increased damage while Envenom’s effect is active. Serrated Bone Spike has been redesigned – (Passive) Prepare a Serrated Bone Spike every 30 seconds, stacking up to 3. Rupture spends a stack to embed a bone spike in its target: Deals Physical damage and Bleed damage every 3 seconds until the target dies or leaves combat. Refunds a stack when the target dies. Generates 1 combo point plus 1 additional per active bone spike. Serrated Bone Spike initial damage reduced by 24% and damage over time damage reduced by 9%. Improved Garrote effect duration increased to 6 seconds (was 3 seconds). Indiscriminate Carnage effect duration reduced to 6 seconds (was 10 seconds). Kingsbane damage bonus per poison application now has a stated cap at 1000% from 50 stacks (was 1980% at 99 stacks). Kingsbane base damage over time increased by 6%. Developer’s note: Kingsbane was originally intended to be uncapped, but abilities and talents introduced in the Dragonflight expansion allowed players to reach its previously-unreachable hidden cap. Increasing or removing the cap in the current environment would reinforce poor gameplay outcomes and continue to constrain talent options, so a lower cap is being introduced with the intention of having Kingsbane remain a valuable component of any build that includes it, but not by being required as every build’s all-important main character. Sepsis has been removed. Outlaw Ace Up Your Sleeve now grants 4 combo points when triggered (was 5). Mastery: Main Gauche damage increased by 24%. Adrenaline Rush has been updated: No longer increases global cooldown recovery rate by 25% while active. Now increases global cooldown recovery rate equal to your Haste while active, up to 25%. Now increases Energy regeneration by 50% (was 60%). Count the Odds effect now has base chance 10% (was 8%) and duration 8 seconds (was 5 seconds), but no longer doubled while Stealthed. Underhanded Upper Hand no longer affects Slice and Dice duration and no longer grants 3 seconds of Subterfuge duration (Stealth ability use). Crackshot’s Dispatch effectiveness reduced to 50% (was 75%). Thief’s Versatility now increases Versatility by 3% (was 4%). Some talents have moved locations. Sepsis has been removed. Subtlety Premeditation has been redesigned – After entering Stealth, your next combo point generating ability generates full combo points. Invigorating Shadowdust now reduces cooldowns by 10/20 seconds (was 15/30 seconds). Shadow Dance moved from the Class talent tree to Subtlety talent tree. Shadow Focus now reduces costs by 5%. Some talents have moved locations.
