- Edited one year agoIt wasn't until very recently that I have actually listened to this 3 CD Set for the first time. To me the most interesting tracks are One Alone and Desolation Path on CD 2 which are listed as unreleased tracks. To me they sound as if they came straight off the Bounty soundtrack and it would have fit the Bounty film perfectly. To all people always demanding vinyl releases of every album out there I have to say one thing: Don't fool yourself by thinking vinyl always sounds better. Yes I like vinyl, too, but so does a CD. Just get yourself a really decent CD player in the let's say 1500$+ price range and you won't regret it. Most vinyls are mastered from digital sources nowadays anyway.
- Disc three is outstanding, worth the purchase price alone!! Yes a vinyl version would be irresistible!!
- favourite soundtrack of all time. surprised how good the second soundtrack was too even if it gets a little samey
- It would be excellent to listen to that material on vinyl, possibly boxed edition with several LPs...
- The best version available at present - but what is needed is a complete version of the soundtrack without dialogue. An automatic 5 star release, that would be.
- Edited 6 years agoEssential triple CD soundtrack! For me this is as important as the movie. A futuristic & an emotional journey with an added bonus of extra & previously unreleased material! I watch the film often & for me the soundtrack is just as important. Vangelis was the only man to give us a future insight to what music might or will sound like in future years - and the movie was just a mirror reflection of the future.
