- BBMandan, ND11 contributionsWent with our granddaughter to breakfast at the zoo. The pancakes and bacon were surprisingly really good for the number of people they were feeding. The zoo is always a fun place to visit and the exhibits are so well done especially for a city the size of Bismarck. It is a fantastic place to visit. And the hands on displays are always fun and educational. We did a train ride a the driver was very informative. Will be back.Written August 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lorin GSaint Louis, MO2,033 contributionsNo tours were offered on the day we visited. However, we could wonder the building on our own with the aid of brochures. If a person visiting is into art deco architecture, then this place fills the bill. Also, there are very nice views from the observation deck on the top of the building's tower. Parking is convenient as well. Caution: during our visit the Senate & House of Representatives were unavailable for viewing during our July 2023 visit, because they were being restored.Written August 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Larry PFargo, ND730 contributionsThe selection of beers is not as extensive as some other breweries, but I had a "Red Dwarf" that was quite good. The meal options for vegetarians are quite limited, but I had a good salad and a cup of very cheesy and tasty mac and cheese. I was there with a group of supporters of the North Dakota American Civil Liberties Union.Written October 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jr2017H2OValparaiso, IN337 contributionsThere are all kinds of spots that you can observe the Missouri River from. If you find a spot with no highway bridges across, I think it looks a lot like Lewis & Clark would have seen it. Go to Keelboat Park and take a boat ride or up to Chief Lookings Village. It's very peaceful if it's not too hot out.Written July 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Steve P4 contributionsMost amazing use of rebar I have ever seen. Truly a work of art!! The artist must have spent hours and hours cutting and welding the thousands of pieces that make up this majestic piece of art. Definitely worth seeing.Written September 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mitch MPlano, TX96 contributionsINTERACTIVE is the one word I'd use to describe this museum, in a good way. Many science museums have lots of cool stuff that's "look but don't touch", but here it's the exact opposite.
So many neat things to play with, our kids were engaged for hours and didn't want to leave. Giant teeth you can brush/floss, surgery simulators, ball pits, paper airplanes and rockets, water toys, and much more. Highly recommend especially for kids.Written September 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Staff were helpful and answered my questions however they were not super friendly and my thought is they don’t like small children or find them overwhelming. But it did not ruin our experience.
If you want coupons or ideas for things to do in Bismarck Mandan this is also a great place to visit.Written August 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Minot is just as good!Written January 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jbwhitehouseDallas, TX1,861 contributionsWe rented paddleboat ($5/half hour) and enjoyed a relaxing, pleasurable experience. Many people were swimming and along the sand. Clean bathrooms. Entrance and beach-picnic facilities free.Written July 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- cenztIowa5,831 contributionsWe arrived at approximately 2 pm and made our way inside to tour the former governors mansion. This was a self guided tour and we were able to walk through the rooms at our own pace. There were informational plaques located throughout each room, that explained the significance and history of how each room was used. I was a little disappointed because most of the rooms were bare and did not contain much furniture, especially the kitchen. I would have liked to see more original furnishings throughout the house. We were able to see the parlor, kitchen, dining room, upstairs bedrooms, bathrooms and attic. Some of the rooms contained exposed wallpaper, and we could see what the designs of the rooms were, several decades ago. The carriage house located adjacent to the house was also open for viewing, and contained some neat artifacts inside.
Tip: I recommend spending 2 hours here if you truly want to see everything.Written June 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice paths for walking and river access if you want to put your boat in the water. Playground for children and a disc golf course for fun.Written July 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jr2017H2OValparaiso, IN337 contributionsWonderful tribute to a young woman who made the Corp of Discovery's trip a success. Convenient, right by the bison statue. Only takes a few minutes, something to discuss with your kids.Written July 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
