Bishop Blanchet High School Reviews
Rating 3.9 out of 5 226 reviews
Bishop Blanchet High School is an exceptional four-year high school in Seattle, WA.
The school is a private catholic school focusing on academic excellence and service. Students do not need to be catholic to attend.
The school is known for its competitive sports programs with many students selected to compete in college athletic programs.
The school takes the "whole student" approach, meeting students where they are academically and providing the support needed to achieve the student's goals. The curriculum is challenging, students select their course load with their counselor's input. Students will often have a class with students across all grade levels based on interest and aptitude. Language, Arts, STEM, and AP Courses are all available in addition to a robust selection of electives.

As a parent of two recent Bishop Blanchet graduates, the school has it's positive and negatives, like most other schools. The Arts program has energy, resources and parent/community involvement. The sports program is inconsistent, with the football program inconsistent with coaches with marginal skills . The XC teams, boys and girls, are the best, with strong coaches and tremendous community support. The older teacher's are communicative, to both parents and students, reasonable and very good teachers. The younger staff, under 40 year olds are entitled, lazy and not communicative, to parents and students. They want to fit in with the kids and have very poor follow through. Parent community is strong, and shows with families with multiple kids attending Blanchet. Alumni Dept. is supportive, kind and helpful. The facility is well maintained, with an expert facilities manager who is a jack of all trades. Overall, for the students...it depends what you put into the school!
Good community and good teachers, not a ton of diversity. Good amount of clubs and opportunities. Wish we could go off campus for lunch
