A few showers will pass through North and Central Alabama overnight, but they will not be severe. There is a small chance of an isolated severe thunderstorm during the day tomorrow, but the chance has lessened.
Strong thunderstorms will be limited to South Alabama through early afternoon. Another batch will move in late tonight and storms could be severe south of a line from Tuscaloosa to Clanton to Auburn. And scattered storms will form areawide on Tuesday. Some of the storms tomorrow could be severe, but coverage will be limited.
Severe is possible tomorrow and Tuesday across parts of Alabama. Here are the latest thoughts on how the event will unfold.
Rainfall amounts could exceed 5 inches over southwestern Alabama between now and noon Tuesday.
Some showers are occurring across South Central Alabama late this morning. The weather over Alabama will be unsettled into midweek.

Storms tonight will be capable of large hail and damaging winds, as well as deadly lightning and heavy rain. A couple of tornadoes are not out of the question as well.
At 614 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Columbus, moving east at 30 mph.
Dangerous storm in Shelby County east of I-65. The core is over Columbiana.
Damaging winds and large hail are the main threat, but a tornado or two can’t be ruled out.
