The once-beloved comedian long known as “America’s Dad,” Bill Cosby is smiling in his latest prison mug shot.
Now 83-years-old, Cosby’s mug shot was recently updated by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections where he is serving a three- to 10-year term for felony sex assault, The Associated Press reports. New photos are routinely taken to document inmates' aging. The new mug shot was taken on Sept. 4 and released on Tuesday.
Later Tuesday, Cosby’s publicist tweeted a photo of him using his verified account, AP reports. Taken by Andrew Wyatt during a video conference call last week, Cosby can be seen smiling with a mask dangling around his neck while holding a phone up to his ear.
“We are posting this to reassure his family and supporters that he is doing OK during this pandemic,” the tweet said.
An appeals court upheld Cosby’s felony sex assault conviction, but the Pennsylvania Supreme Court agreed to review two key issues in the case, the report said. The appeal is set to be heard Dec. 1.
Cosby was the first celebrity convicted of sexual misconduct in the #MeToo era when he was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home near Philadelphia in 2004, the report said.
