steve d surprisingly conventional but works because of the cast. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Se ver uma Noomi é bom, imagina Várias, poderia ser umas 3 ou 4 horas de filme pra ficar ainda mais perfeito Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review ronald h For a movie that features a GPS voice as a character, this one sure takes a lot of wrong turns. Plot holes abound: Why did the rape victim not call the cops or see a doctor? (Her justification is quickly skimmed over, and it's senseless). Who fixed the tire and put the car in the bar parking lot? Why does nobody hear the gun shots when she shoots the bad guys (three times!)? The Google search for the rapist is just too quick, convenient, and simplistic. And after the revenge, the denouement is laughable (and not in a funny way). Secondly, haven't we had enough decades of rape victim revenge movies? This one is barely a couple of notches about the despicable 1970's _I Spit on Your Grave_. Thirdly, I have seen movies abut rape that didn't glorify the act itself by showing it in salacious detail. Not the case here; it's right in your face. It's counter-productive to any kind of feminist treatise and an insult to women's dignity. I remember trying to read this Stephen King short story and giving up on it. Just too dark, mean, and sadistic. The guy can really write, but he goes off the rails frequently. In this case, an opportunistic producer and screenwriter saw the chance to adapt the story to film, thus adding to the trash pile of tasteless revenge flicks. Offensive and pointless. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good revenge story, predictable yes, but very entertaining nevertheless. Excellent casting too Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The acting is atrocious to begin with because it feels like one of those bad day time tv movies but once it gets going it's a really dark movie and you feel satisfied watching her take her revenge Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Awful silly. We figured out the story line in the first 10 minutes. The only thing scary about King's stories is the writing. Another stupid story by King. Mary McNamara Los Angeles Times If only it weren't such a disturbingly retro and sadistically sensationalized take on the subject. If only it were any good at all. Oct 20, 2014 Full Review Lori Rackl Chicago Sun-Times Like some of King's other tales, it loses its way, devolving into a rape revenge fantasy whose potency is diluted by silly gimmicks like a talking GPS system with a mind of its own. Rated: 2/4 Oct 20, 2014 Full Review Diane Werts Newsday Solid star turn, eerie production values, even a killer ending. Nice symmetry, Steve. Rated: B Oct 17, 2014 Full Review Paul Chambers Movie Chambers You've gotta really be willing to throw logic out the window to enjoy "Big Driver," a revenge-thriller based on the Stephen King novella. But, as TV movies go, it isn't that bad and certainly the cast is excellent. Rated: C+ Jan 30, 2015 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed An often toothless and ridiculous rape revenge thriller... Oct 19, 2014 Full Review Nick Venable CinemaBlend It's a powerful film - not because its story of a vengeful female will shine a light on social injustices, but simply because it grips viewers and doesn't let go until the credits are rolling. Maria Bello is a pain-stricken wonder. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 17, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
