There are some classic off-roaders that never seem to go out of style in the United States. We saw it in a previous article with Frontier, Nissan's midsize pickup that for decades has been one of the favorites in its segment. Now Jeep is calling our attention and we also see this trend.
According to the latest official sales balances, which correspond to the accumulated 2023 business cycle, Jeep sold a total of 642,924 0km. units in the U.S. market, which represents a similar number although somewhat lower than the accumulated of the previous annual cycle where it had registered 648,614 units sold.
The question today is to know which Jeep model is the favorite, in terms of volume of registrations, in the U.S. market.
According to official sales figures, Grand Cherokee is the factory's best-selling model in the United States. With 244,594 0km. units registered during the last annual sales cycle, Jeep's modern classic is by far the most requested option.
Not only that, but in the last annual balance sheet it shows an increase of 10.1% compared to the 2022 annual cycle, where it had registered 223,345 units. Part of this increase in sales is due to the rise in demand for the hybrid version named Grand Cherokee 4xe. In 2024, there are already five hybrid versions of this model. This is where Jeep sees a strong commercial opportunity.
In the versions powered entirely by internal combustion and gasoline engine, Grand Cherokee mounts a 3.6-liter DOHC front, 6-cylinder V-arranged. This combination allows a total power of 293 HP at 6,400 rpm, plenty of power for this truck aimed at routine and family use.
By way of farewell, to announce that Jeep's other two best-selling models at present are its iconic Wrangler and its C-segment Crossover/SUV called Compass. See you next time.
