This album and it's follow-up, Children Beyond, will probably be a top favorite forever. I can't stop playing it. Perhaps there are other such blends of sacred sound, but I've not encountered them. It calls for playing and playing again to appreciate the brilliance of the synthesis of all these traditions, music styles and lyrics into something so beautiful I can't find the words to describe it. Of course one has to be open to sacred music, and other traditions but, who would have thought, an American soulful icon and two essentially classically trained vocalists, each with beautiful voices making harmony that feels as if it could heal the world's wounds. It definitely quiets me down as well as lifts me up. Plus I love how I can listen to it as background music while I do something else, and not feel distracted. And then listen with focus and become completely absorbed.
Would that everyone in the world would embrace it. And I do hope they do many, many more.

Fisrt, ladies, this is a true gift, and I want to thank you all!!! Tina has been a moving force within my life (since 1984 @ the Ritz).Then, I saw you on 'Larry King', just before "WILDEST DREAMS", and you gave us a most beautiful chant. I new then that I had to find 'my inner self'. I realized that NYC was not for me. So, I left for good. But, YOU (TINA) were always by my side. And I started reading about Buddhism. Then, many lovers later, I found The One. He accepts and understands the WAY OF LIFE that I have chosen.
