This is the first Russian show I've seen and all I can say is WOW!!!
I can't wait for the next season and I really hope they move forward with this show I absolutely loved it. This is like when I was a kid watching shows about future tech we could only dream of, that is common place today. This is definitely in my top 10 awesome!!!!

This show is a hardcore thinking drama that takes place in the near future about what happens when a prototype robot is designed that breaks Asimov's 3 Laws of Robotics. The show is well acted and the English dubbing is well done. If you want to see what the contents of the original script were, turn the subtitles on.
There are multiple threads weaving in and out of the story that add to the show's complexity as the different actors in each thread cross paths. A lot of the aspects of corporate power, corruption, and government are very Russian and interesting to see narratively.

The script and story arcs aren't groundbreaking, but the show displays the fascinating effects of near-human robots within society.
"Better Than Us" reveals how robot assistants could greatly improve the lives of humans while also creating issues for human employment and personal relationships between couples.
After several episodes, I couldn't help but root for the main protagonist to fall in love with the Arisa, the somewhat flawed but extremely loyal next-gen robot that would do anything for her family.
The show displays how dangerous it would be to have a robot that has the ability to kill a human being, while also showing humans killing each other on a massive scale.
I hope the show gets a second season to flesh out more ideas on how future technology might change our world, in both positive and negative ways. Plus the actress who portrays Arisa is extremely beautiful and fun to watch.

Very well done on production on robotic A1 -- more than a bit ahead of its time. Dubbing was very good and made the long 16 episode series go smoother. I wouldn't look for Season 2 as it has been reported that Netflix has pulled its production out of Russia.

Mediocre on every level. This show is the literal form of "meh". Filming it in Russia was a weird design choice though, not exactly a center of scientific progress.

If you want non-stop gorgeous women and non-stop ugly men, except for the main bad guy who is the only good-looking guy in the whole show, and the main good guy who is half-decent looking, then this is the show for you! Poor women, having to be that good-looking for guys as ugly as all of them. I mean, seriously, there were like 30 women that were perfect 10s, and an equal number of absolute 0s for guys. Is that what Russia is like? Well, some people say that it is. As for the actual show, I mean wow. I had heard that Russians know their robots but seriously this is amazing. The special effects are balls, even if it is set all of 10 years in the future, but the plot is truly incredible. I even wondered if the "us" part of the title was not merely referring to robots being better than humans, but was more about Russia being better at making robot movies than USA are. Compare this to the movie "Megan" (or "M3gan") and you can see the difference. This had real depth. While they set it up for a sequel, I know that they never made one. Oh and this is about a super-powered robot called Arissa, made in China, who adapted to work in Russia, and she isn't bound by the 3 laws for robot-human interaction and is allowed to kill. It's really highlighting why those 3 robot laws are so important, and essentially why Russia is great at robots. And, quite frankly, after watching this I am convinced: if we ever do have robots, let's let Russia be the ones who control them, because if anyone else does they will mess it up. It was also quite an important cultural movie for understanding Russia, I think. I do seriously wonder now if Russia really is non-stop gorgeous women and ugly men. Is it really? Is that an advertisement for people to move there? I dunno. Anyway, this is really hard to fault but maybe I'll take half a point off for bad special effects, though they aren't bad-bad. They're more low-budget bad. It's very near perfect. I gave it an amazing 9.5/10
