- When Tommy Roe hit, his music packed a punch. "Everybody" sounded a lot like Buddy Holly. "Hooray for Hazel" was a favorite of mine during its release and still has a dated charm with its marching band brokenhearted melody. "It's Now Winter's Day" with its dreamy melody may be his best song as an artist. The only thing I don't particularly care for -- and this is just a point of personal taste -- is the audio commentary that is on the record as Tommy talks about his career and records. While interesting, I want to play the record for the music, not for the chatter.
