Please be aware that UPS Japan have been facing significant issues with their systems (servers) over the last couple of weeks. Basic functions like tracking, and even processing received shipments, have been disrupted during this period. It seems they have just finally resolved the issue, and packages submitted over the last few weeks are being processed with tracking finally becoming available. Nevertheless, we recommend selecting any of our other shipping options over the next week or two at checkout. ^_^
We apologize for this - although - please note, any service disruptions by external companies (postal networks, couriers) are naturally, beyond our control. To remedy this, at least - to some degree, we are slowly phasing out offering UPS in the future (we have had difficulties in the past with them, although nothing on this level). We are absolutely delighted to begin offering you a completely new selection of FAST, and DIRECT shipping options from Japan!
We will no longer be using our mail-forwarding centers in the US and Europe as we have in the past as is the case with some of our competitors here. This means, services that would reach you via mail-forwarding stations (effectively doubling delivery times) will now be shipping direct from Japan, and with most options reaching customers in about 2-4 weeks on average (this of course depends on your location - and the service you select).
We are offering the best of both worlds: exceptionally low shipping rates and direct service from Japan!
Tracking: most of the services we will offer, do come with tracking (see notice next to any shipping service you select). However, due to a unique arrangement we have with our partners, tracking is NOT available immediately after your package ships. Tracking may take as long as a week or two to become available in some cases, and for some services. By placing an order with us, you understand - and accept this. If you purchased a shipping service with tracking, there is no need to request tracking: it will be provided to you, the moment it becomes available.
A few other notes on shipping:
UPS: We have ceased offering UPS to the UK and Canada, as a result of customer sentiment towards UPS in those specific regions. Of course, we replaced our UPS offering in these regions with a low-cost direct tracked option, that you can select at checkout.
LARGE BOXSET/UNUSUAL ITEMS: While Discogs automatic shipping calculator is a fantastic feature, there are rare cases, where it doesn't work as it should. For example, there may be an instance of a release that includes one standard CD, and - an additional large/heavy book. Discogs may in this case, incorrectly apply the shipping rate for one standard CD - while ignoring the fact the item actually comes bundled with a heavy/large book. In such case, Discogs might only invoice the low-cost shipping rate for a single CD - without considering the large/heavy item in the package (the book, in this example). These are very rare cases - but - if this does occur in your order, we will politely inform you of the Discogs shipping calculator issue, confirm the correct shipping cost - and - only proceed, if you are ok with the revised shipping cost. :) Again, these are exceptionally rare situations, but - as they do take place on rare occasion, it only makes sense to note this in our terms here.
