The most talked-about new beauty campaigns
From Lily-Rose Depp for Chanel to Glossier's inclusive campaign
The campaigns and brand-new celebrity faces behind the biggest beauty product launches of the year are often just as exciting as the formulas they are advertising. These are the big beauty campaigns setting social media alight, from Lily-Rose Depp for Chanel to Naomi Campbell for Pat McGrath.
Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton has unveiled a joy-inducing campaign video to celebrate the launch of its sunny new On The Beach cologne. A love letter to the California coastline, the lighthearted animation has us all yearning for a day on sun-soaked sand.
Louis Vuitton
The brand worked with LA-based artist and regular collaborator Alex Israel to bring the fragrance's warm citrus and neroli notes to life through vivid sunset tones. And yes, they've even designed a surfboard.
Chanel
If you needed evidence that the right shade of lipstick can be wonderfully joy-inspiring, especially after a year of mask-wearing, may we present Lily-Rose Depp in Chanel's campaign for the new Rouge Coco Bloom lip colours.
Chanel
Rather than simply pouting at the camera, the young model performs a full dance routine alongside a group of similarly jubilant women, embodying the energy and happiness that Chanel are trying to bring with its new lip colours.
Chanel
The new Rouge Coco Bloom provides the rich colour of a lipstick with the shine and lightness of a gloss - perfectly in line with Gabrielle Chanel's own maxim, “add more lipstick and attack."
Glossier
To mark the launch of the Body Hero Exfoliating Bar and Dry-Touch Oil Mist, Glossier has partnered with eight stars of the WNBA. While living together, these athletes offered a glimpse into their lives through self-shot content, revealing the rituals they love and how they’ve come to hone their perspectives on beauty.

Accompanying the video is a powerful series of ‘skin portraits’ featuring everyday heroes, from curve model Kendra Austin to nurse Andrea Dalzell.
Hourglass
Last year, Hourglass made a pledge to become entirely vegan by the end of 2020, and over half of the brand's line-up has now been reformulated to comply with vegan and cruelty-free standards.
In celebration of this, the brand is reigniting its original Eye to Eye campaign with a host of new celebrity stars – and their beloved pets. The shoot was virtually produced by renowned photographer Mark Seliger and features the likes of Jasmine Tookes, Devon Windsor and Chriselle Lim.
The brand has also launched a social-media competition in support of animal charity Non Human Rights Project. Post a photo of you posing Eye to Eye with your pet at home, tag @hourglasscosmetics and #hg_eyetoeye, and the brand will donate $1 for every post. For every 100 entries, 5 winners will be chosen to receive a weighty Hourglass gift box.
Hourglass
"It was so special to be able to shoot with my little puppy to help promote Hourglass and their “Eye to Eye” initiative," said Kate Bock. "Vestry and I got to shoot with Mark Seliger who was brilliant, even when challenged on a shoot with an animal and human via FaceTime and Zoom from afar!”
Valentino Beauty
Lady Gaga doesn't just star in Valentino's uplifting fragrance campaign for the new scent Voce Viva - she sings. Showcasing her latest single A Sine from Above, which celebrates how the power of music transformed her life, the singer is joined by a chorus of diverse voices, whose empowering vocals truly capture the mantra of the new fragrance, 'My Voice, My Strength'.

"My voice is what I am standing for, what makes me heard, it’s the statement of my individuality," says Lady Gaga. "The voice is alive. It has its own life. It’s a force of nature.”
Pat McGrath Labs
Naomi Campbell - the face of Pat McGrath Labs - is joined by a host of beautiful faces, dubbed the #McGrathMuses, in the campaign for the brand's new Dark Star mascara. You can watch an extract of the film on the next slide.

Voiced by the iconic actress Marisa Berenson (who also lends her face to imagery for the campaign), the captivating video utilises the Oscar Wilde quote: "I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best." A nod perhaps to how mascara - often the unsung hero of eye make-up - can make all the difference to your appearance... if you choose the right one.

Irina Shayk, Damian Hurley (the son of Elizabeth Hurley) and a host of models also star in the photographic campaign, which was captured by the legendary American photographer and videographer Steven Meisel.

Whether you love bold make-up looks or prefer just a little bit of definition, the series of images highlights the versatility of the new mascara formula, which promises longer, bolder lashes in just one swish.

You can find inspiration for new eye make-up looks not only from the beautiful still imagery but on the Pat McGrath Instagram account, where the make-up artist has revealed the exact products she used alongside the new mascara.
Pat McGrath Labs
“It is an honour and a privilege to introduce my new volumising Dark Star Mascara to the world via a campaign by the ultimate starmaker himself – the legendary Steven Meisel," explained Pat McGrath.
L'Oréal Paris
The model and activist Cindy Bruna is far more than just a pretty face. A passionate advocate, she has campaigned against domestic violence in France and hair discrimination against black women in the modelling industry for years. Now, she is determined to show all women that they are 'worth it' as the new spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris.
L'Oréal Paris
“I’m so proud to join L’Oreal Paris as a new spokesperson, the iconic French brand that celebrates all women and infinite ways to be beautiful,” revealed Bruna who will make her L'Oréal Paris debut in skincare and haircare campaigns in July. “We’re all absolutely worth it – yet we don’t always believe it. But by standing up for our rights and our dreams, we have the power to change our lives, and also those of others.”
Burberry
As Burberry's new beauty campaign proves, Fran Summers has a face that so effortlessly sells make-up. With her enviable pout defined by a bold red lip colour (probably Burberry Kisses in Poppy Red), the British model has recently added 'the face of Burberry Beauty' to her impressive modelling resume. She will star in campaigns for the brand from autumn 2020.
