Audience Member My rating is based purely on the information provided in the program. Mick Ronson was a musical groundbreaker in the early 1970s who never sought and barely received recognition for his contributions. This program serves to help set the record straight. As far as its strength as a documentary, I doubt the subject will attract a wide audience. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member At moments it is difficult to keep up with what is happening but a great tribute to a musician that help create one of the great rock albums of all time Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting for fans of Bowie and Ronson but not a great work of documentary film making. It did provide reasonably good insight into the early Bowie years with some good behind-the-scenes stories. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Good documentary on one of rock music's most underrated artists. Documentary on Mick Ronson, most famously known as being the guitarist in David Bowie's early-career backing band, The Spiders From Mars. He was also a producer and arranger of note, working with a wide variety of artists. Good documentary on one of rock music's most underrated artists. Most people will only know him from his Bowie years, and then the focus is on Bowie, naturally. However, he was an incredibly talented and accomplished artist in his own right, contributing much to Bowie's songs, including writing and arranging some of the music. Musically and presence-wise he was the perfect complement to Bowie. Moreover, he had an incredibly successful and prolific career after Bowie, playing in several bands and backing bands plus producing tracks and albums by artists as diverse as John Cougar Mellencamp, Lou Reid and Morrisey. The documentary highlights these successes well and also shows how modest he was in achieving these successes. Good range of interviewees. On the negative side, it does gloss over some of the detail, just giving an almost bullet-pointed, blow-by-blow history, rather than getting to the reasons for certain things happening. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Somewhat eye-opening. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/21/18 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

John DeFore Hollywood Reporter Of interest to Ronson or Bowie fans but hardly enlightening. Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Benjamin H. Smith Decider Rock n' roll is a dirty game, and the plight of Mick Ronson is just one of many hard luck stories to befall talented musicians over the years. Apr 4, 2018 Full Review Bradley Gibson Film Threat The image Brewer leaves us with is powerful. Rated: 8/10 Nov 22, 2017 Full Review M. Faust The Public (Buffalo) Featuring interviews with Hunter, Reed, and members of Queen, the Sex Pistols, and Def Leppard, it's a must-see for any classic rock fan. Sep 5, 2017 Full Review Edward Douglas Film Journal International A beautiful film documenting some of the most groundbreaking rock music of the '70s and the major contribution Mick Ronson offered well beyond being "Bowie's guitar player."
