Wright Chelsea's Potter

Chelsea have been suffering from injury crisis for the whole season. Their performances have been affected by long list of injuries as well. However, they have a good news regarding the upcoming game against Newcastle United. The Chelsea defense is now better by the early arrival of Benoit Badiashile from injury. The 22 year old defender was injured in the FA Cup fixture against Aston Villa and hasn’t featured since. Thiago Silva recently returned from injury as well, giving Pochettino more options in the defense. Also, Pochettino can now rest Axel Disasi who has been playing the most to cover their absence in defense.

Benoit Badiashile seen training in Cobham all alone

The French player was reportedly training on his own in Cobham training facilities ahead of Pochettino’s press conference. LondonWorld reports that Chelsea might be provided with an injury update on Friday about the player’s condition. The 22 year old can provide some much needed defensive stability to the squad along with Thiago Silva. Chelsea are in dire need of some redemption however it comes. Mauricio Pochettino would hope that the 22 year old could feature against Newcastle on Monday but it might be too soon to say anything. An injury update would clarify the situation on Friday.

Chelsea’s season in jeopardy

The Blues have struggled so far in the Premier League and recently lost against Liverpool in the EFL Cup Final. Mauricio Pochettino is in a tough spot with only ten wins in 26 games in the Premier League this season. With pressure mounting on the Argentine, he really needs to turn the tables to stay at Chelsea next season. Their next opponents are Newcastle who are on the 8th place, while the Blues are on 11th place. Chelsea need to perform consistently id they have ambitions of European place next season.
