Chelsea could turn to RB Leipzig for attacking reinforcements again as they plot for a new forward to come in next season.

This summer looks set to be a time of more big decisions, as uncertainty continues to surround manager Mauricio Pochettino but the club also consider more transfer business.

Chelsea have spent over £1billion since the summer of 2022 yet their team is not yet fully functioning and it is expected one of their top priorities will be a forward.

Chelsea In The Market For A New Forward

Victor Osimhen would be the top target, but other names are having to be considered and Chelsea are impressed by two stars at Leipzig.

The Blues signed £52million Christopher Nkunku from the German side last year, but they have not yet had a proper return on their investment as he has been rocked by injuries.

Nkunku was brought in to add dynamism to the front line yet he has only made seven appearances due to a knee injury before the season had begun and he then suffered a hamstring problem at the start of March.

Chelsea remain excited about what he will eventually bring to their side on a regular basis and they may even return to his old side to find another option for the attack.

The Blues are one of the clubs tracking 20-year-old Benjamin Sesko, who is also catching the eye of Arsenal and Manchester United.

And Lois Openda, 24, is also in view after a sensational campaign. He has scored 28 goals this season and has a £68million release clause that kicks in in 2025.

Leipzig will aim to keep both players but there is a chance one of them leaves in the coming window – and the more likely option is believed to be Sesko.

Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson will remain as key figures for next season and Nkunku should also finally make his mark. But Chelsea are continuing to assess options in the market.

The Blues set Osimhen as their top target for the summer but have also weighed up the likes of Ivan Toney and Evan Ferguson, as Osimhen has other options. His most likely landing spot is thought to be Paris Saint-Germain.
