Kelli Mayo and Ben Winchell are set as series regulars in When the Street Lights Go On, Hulu’s drama pilot adapted from the Black List feature script by writers Chris Hutton and Eddie O’Keefe. The project hails from Paramount Television and Anonymous Content.
In the vein of Stand by Me, When the Street Lights Go On is a coming-of-age thriller about a sleepy, suburban town that is rocked by the brutal murder of a high school girl and her teacher in the summer of 1983.
Mayo will play Berlice Beaman, a 15-year-old bohemian bookworm. Winchell is Brad Krichoff, the brooding, quarterback boyfriend of prom queen Chrissy Monroe.
Recording artist/actress Mayo has been writing music, singing and performing with her sister Peyton in the punk band Skating Polly since age 10. The band, which tours nationally and internationally, will release its fifth album on March 25. Mayo is repped by Micki Caruso and Margrit Polak at Margrit Polak Management and attorneys Hayes Robbins and Chad Christopher at Stone, Genow, Smelkinson, Binder & Christopher. Winchell’s recent film credits include Max Steel, set for release in August, and indie Feed, which is in postproduction. He also was a regular on MTV’s Finding Carter last season. Winchell is repped by Gersh, Stokes Management and Myman Greenspan.
