Former Tottenham player admits he 'dreams' of replacing Ange Postecoglou as Spurs manager - The Spurs News

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is already seeing his tenure at the club being spoken about by one former player.

Daniel Levy only appointed Postecoglou back in the summer and Tottenham are already marching on to a bright future.

Going into the game on Saturday, Spurs will be fully aware that a victory over Newcastle United would take them three points clear of Aston Villa.

The likes of James Maddison has already admitted what playing Champions League football would mean to him.

But Postecoglou is still down playing the notion of a top four finish being crucial for Tottenham’s development.

Now, it seems like the Australian already has one former Spurs player who is already lining himself up to potentially succeed him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Although that may still be a few years away, it seems the 35-year-old is keen to get working behind the scenes at Hotspur Way.

Postecoglou already has former Tottenham player eyeing his job

In recent weeks, journalist Alasdair Gold has admitted that current Tottenham player Ben Davies could be a future Spurs manager in the making.

The Welshman has now earned his UEFA A licence as he considers his future after his playing days.

It is not just Davies who could potentially become Spurs manager one day having already played for the club.

Ryan Mason has previously taken charge of the first team on an interim basis and remains a part of the coaching staff at Tottenham.

However, there is another former midfielder who is eyeing up the role in Sandro Raniere.

Former Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has already spoken about the possibility of the Brazilian becoming a future Spurs boss.

But now, the 35-year-old has spoken out about his desire to one day manage the north London club.

Speaking to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Sandro admitted he’d pick Spurs over Real Madrid or Barcelona to manage every day of the week.

“My dream is not to coach Barcelona or Real Madrid but Tottenham. I am only 35 years old and have a lot of time ahead of me. I am aware that I have to work my way up first. But my goal is the Tottenham bench, which I consider the best club in London,” he said.

“Just look at what Daniel Levy has done over the years, building the new training center and stadium. The club fights every year to enter the Champions League. Tottenham lacks nothing and now year after year they will build an increasingly competitive team.”

Ange Postecoglou has commented on replacing Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool

Liverpool are set to lose their boss Jurgen Klopp over the coming months and Postecoglou has been linked as a potential option for the Reds.

However, the Australian has batted away any talk of him potentially leaving Tottenham already.

“Right now it is about finishing the season strong with Tottenham and making sure we establish a strong foundation for who we want to be in years to come,” he said.

“At the end of the day If I am doing a good job then it means that people will acknowledge that in one form or another, whatever that form is. So-called chat? Really? It is of no interest to me.”

Although Liverpool have other targets, it just goes to show the excellent job which Postecoglou is doing in north London.
