A really fun affordable place for the family to have some fun. Here are my takeaways:
-For kids who like to ride rides, get the unlimited ride pass, but buy it online ahead of time. You'll save $20-$40 per pass.
-I would not get a pass for myself again. It was a better deal to pay per ride
-Bring your beach stuff, the park is literally on the beach. Plenty of families and kids were vacillating back and forth between the beach and the park
-There is no entry fee or re-entry fee, the whole place is open which is super nice if you want to leave and grab a bite somewhere else or go chill on the beach for awhile
We spent a good part of the day riding rides with a wait time never exceeding more than 10 minutes (most wait times were 5 minutes or less).
It's a fun and inexpensive way to spend the day with kids. A great value and an awesome spot on the beach!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 3, 2024
What a great place to take your kids while in the SD area! Lots of cute rides and arcade games for them to play. There is also a climbing wall and zip line for the more adventurous folks. The Plunge swim pool was also a huge hit for our kids with their inflatable course.
There were a bunch of different foods options and shops to drop in on.
I wish there were more bathrooms available throughout the place since it is so large. And the prices for tickets vs. the number of tickets required for each game/ride seems pretty steep.
I would recommend getting there on the early side since parking can be challenging once it's afternoon time.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Greg C.Eugene, OR1513024Mar 31, 2024
We loved Belmont Park.
There was plenty of free parking next to the park. And it's just a block away from the beach.
The old wooden Rollercoaster that sounds, feels, and looks like it's 75 years old was a thrill. No loops or twists...just good old-fashioned roller coaster jerking and a loud ride.
We chose this park using San Diego Go Pass. We must have done the bumper cars a dozen times. The lines for everything on a Wednesday from 2 to 8 pm were non-existent up to 12 minutes for the Rollercoaster.
Hate over-priced amusement park food? There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance out of the park, which means walking 2 or 3 city blocks.
We spent 5 hours there. It's a small park, but we had a lot of fun. Perfect for the kid!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 21102320Mar 14, 2024
we seriously loved loved loved going to Belmont Park. Oh my goodness it was so fun. We went here to celebrate our daughters fourth birthday and it was so empty and it really seemed like it was just for us lol
When we first entered the parking lot, it was really small. It seems like like there was only like I don't know 20 spaces but then we went around and there was like a lot more parking on the other side oops hahaha
Our favorite part or the girls favorite part was the carousel ride that was really cool
there is a lot of cool rides there too!! the parks hours was 11 AM to 8 PM. The parking was free and I believe you just pay for individual tickets or rides to rides. There is no like general ticket.
there was so many photo opportunities as well and there was an arcade for the kids and even carnival games as well. The kids loved it and if you just walk a little further, we were seriously by the beach and it was awesome. Absolutely loved it!!!
i would totally go here again w the fam!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 10, 2024
What a fun place! Always a must when we visit San Diego. It's not that big, it's a small amusement park. But lots of things to do. My family and I enjoyed the food as well. Funnel cake and ice cream was so good. I loved how it's so close to the beach! After some fun rides and delicious food, head over to the beach and watch the sun set. If you're lucky you might even see some dolphins in the distance. Sooo magical for me.

My family, and I love this place! You can walk around, ride the rides, shop, and eat. There is no admission fee, which is great but you will need to buy tickets of course to ride the rides. Parking is free. There are different options to eat, including pizza, salads, burgers, and fries. There are great shops there to get souvenirs or T-shirts along with beach toys and fun items for kids. The place is dog friendly, which is extra nice.my family and I really enjoy going here.

You can walk through this area for free and have a great time. I frequently buy shirts, sweatshirts, magnets, etc. in the big store at the far end of the park. They have everything. There are several rides for kids plus a big roller coaster. There's also a big arcade. This is a great place to take the family, right on the board walk of Mission Beach.

Still a fun place to visit after all these years.
I used to visit often when I was a young adult.
Now that I have my own kids, I made the trek and I was blown away at how nicely it's been remodeled.
Parking was a cinch.
Getting around the park was easy too!
It's well maintained and has many options to choose from in terms of drink, food, rides and retail.
It also helps that it's steps away from the beach.
There is live music and an arcade.
I plan on coming back soon!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jan 26, 2024Updated review
What is been one place that brings back childhood memories and the many tastes of the Boardwalk? There has been one place that has been here bin here in San Diego for so many years since the city has first started the beach side airport that was located by Mission Beach. What has happened? The storms that had hit the city of San Diego and the many North County and the many pacific cities and those that are located along our Coastline. There is something very special about Belmont Park and the many areas around the beach front city the many places that are there it was much different. With the war that was going on overseas and the many that were having to stay and take care of the kids there was a place that had everything to it and the food and the games to go along with the Belmont Park.
The one thing that had go to people attention was the rides and the and the Boardwalk games they could throw a baseball and the games catching a fish in the fish bowls. The many that had tested the men was the sledgehammer that was the test of strength and far you could hit the lever to put the arrow to go to the top to ring the bell. Back in the heady days of Belmont Park you could smell the different foods and the popcorn and the caramel apples that you could get at the boardwalk. Mom or dad would be the ones to get the tickets and get the best shot at the target guns and the biggest doll they had on the wall that was the one game even the kids became the crack shot of Daniel Bone. This was my day to go and search and take a walk amusement park but when I had arrived at the park was closed and the many stores and the restaurants that were still open. I was able to find out that the park will be having a Grand Opening in the Month of March and the many places down the middle of the Boardwalk will have a brand-new look and the Dipper will have a fresh new look and painted.
The many places of the board walk and the stores there are many new eateries and new restaurants that you can have a great dinner and the cutbacks have been to the many bar areas and the restructured of the of the boardwalk making the park much newer and more modern and bringing back the Good Vibes to Belmont Park. There was a lot of construction and the many workmen that were there and the many that were working on the Big Dipper Roller Coaster. The many areas of the Belmont Park were under the full construction and the beach accesses that was open, and you could up and down the main beach boardwalk with the many rules in place there is no alcohol or the smoking of Cigarettes. By the way the park was under great amounts of construction and the Opening coming in March of this year and with the new look of the Belmont Boardwalk and the new Dipper Rollercoaster.
As a Yelp Elte Reviewer the day was one of the most Incredible days to see something that was over 100years old and the great work that was going into it with the many new things that were going to be added with the addition of more new places to eat and the redesign of the board to bring back the Old Days. The smell of the hot dogs and the cotton candy and the rings of the bells as kids won prizes and your mom and dad could sit down and have a dinner together to watch the kids play the games.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Apr 19, 2023Previous reviewThe history of the beach area has the many trails and the great secrets that have some of the many entries that were from the past years and the years in the 1800s which tells of the many great history and the many advancements that were coming to light in the city of San Diego. With the growth of the city of San Diego the coming of the train stations that carried freight from the many areas near the ocean and the overland stagecoach stations that the city was establishing the many forms of Government and the First City Hall and the first library which was located in the Gas Lamp of the city.
The Sea Front of the area of the Mission Bay Park and the area of Belmont Park you will find many of the historical and those areas which have been with the park for the many years that has been opened that when the Belmont Park was just getting the many changes and the seaport was the busiest with the use of a seaside airport that had Introduced the many arrivals and when the first airplanes had first started showing in the area of the early years of San Diego. Yet those years were the years that the city was going through the many areas of the alcohol and the smuggling that had taken place where the shipments of rum and whiskey would be brought to the caves of Point Loma and the beach communities. You have to remember that the many bayside areas were the many developing areas where the many trade and cargo ships would come to San Diego through the Panama Canal.
With the large Island of Coronado and the Ferry Service that San Diego and the Nothern parts of Calif that were in the midst of the Railroad Development that were bringing the many passengers that were coming from the larger cities of the North and the further cities that were connected by the Trans Continental Railroad that connected to the City of Los Angeles that today the area of Belmont has been the beach side parks and the many great restaurants. When you take a look at the Belmont Park Fun zone you see the many game zones and the retailers that have the top names in clothes in the areas of the high-end bathing suits and the bikinis that you see on the beach. The large parks that are across the street that have large areas you can have the many family events that have such great memories and the weekends you have some of the best clubs that you can have the best drinks and when you have the morning craving for Starbucks Coffee.
As a Yelp Elite Reviewer, the many places that I have seen the many party zones with the all-night clubs some that have been closed due to the many rules which San Diego has Imposed. The area of the Belmont Park Zone has such great with the many areas of the drive going up the board no you can't drive you can go on foot. The many sites of Belmont and the beach connection has made the Belmont Park location one that has so many things that people and the City of San Diego are still discovering. - Sep 4, 2023
Cute area to walk around but not much to do for just adults (definitely a great place for kids though).
We were told by the workers that the laser maze would be good for us but it was literally a tiny room with just 4 or 5 laser beams (it was nowhere near what they advertised on the site) it took 5 seconds to complete (what a waste of $10).
The iconic roller coaster had a beautiful view of the ocean at the top. Warning: it hurts like a mf swaying and bumping back and forth on those hard seats (reminds me of a mild version of the ghost rider at knotts).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 1819133114897May 28, 2023
Belmont Park is an amusement park located at Mission Beach. There's lots of fun things to do, like ride a rollercoaster, climb a wall, zip line, and swim in an indoor pool.
There's also restaurants and ice cream and sweet shops. It's like the county fair, but it's available year round. On my visit, Mother's Day, there were several cute photo ops that included beautiful flower arrangements.
There is also shopping. We forgot our sunscreen and I ended up paying $18 for a bottle, ouch. Here's a tip, don't forget your sun screen lol.
They sell alcohol which can be consumed inside the park. We stopped by a beachside restaurant and did some boardwalk people watching while sipping a local brew. The boardwalk was nice and wide. You can also rent bikes nearby.
This area was very busy. I would like to go back on a weekday when it's a little less crowded.Helpful 10Thanks 2Love this 8Oh no 0
