Bafta-nominated Belfast actress Roisin Gallagher has praised local production companies and writers for bringing stories about Northern Ireland to the screen and providing a platform for emerging new talent.

The star of comedy dramas The Dry and The Lovers, the latter which earned her the Bafta nod, said there had always been prolific acting talent in Northern Ireland but that locally commissioned shows like Blue Lights and Derry Girls had given that talent well-deserved exposure.
