I know the average age of Era members is extremely old (like late 20s) and folks probably are having more bladder issues, so I was curious when people cut off liquids for the night.

I've always had bladder issues, but that hasn't stopped me from constantly drinking fluids all day long and subsequently going to the bathroom all day long. Also I'm in my 40s, so if you think late 20s bathroom issues are bad...

I drink water right before going to bed.

I end up waking up to go to the bathroom around 5:00 AM which is when I usually get up or want to get up.

It isn't about the bladder for me but the prostate. I used to have to stop drinking fluids 4+ hours before bed for years. Turns out I had a prostate infection from years of holding my pee for too long. I probably had this undiagnosed for a DECADE. Got on a 4 week antibiotics regimen and it cleared it up. Now I can drink pretty much right up to bed time again.

If you are suddenly having problems with this I urge you to tell your doctor. It is not normal for us 'olds' who are in our 30s to have these issues. I thought the same thing until I got it all fixed up. I chalked it up to 'getting older' but it isn't typically true for people in their 30s from my understanding.

I tend to drink some milk before bed and I sleep pretty well. The times I don't sleep well have nothing to do with drinking liquids before bed.

I'm 38 and drink about a pint of water before bed and I sleep fine.
How are you even alive at that age??

I sometimes have to drink water in the middle of the night because I probably don’t drink enough in the day. Because of that some nights I have to go to the bathroom multiple times.

I'm 35 and I've noticed no bladder differences since I was a teenager, I drink water right before I go to sleep and I never wake up needing to pee

I don't really time it I guess. I try my best not to eat for a few hours before bed but I'll be sipping on whatever drink I have pretty much up until the time I go to sleep.

Usually fluids are fine to drink even right before sleeping , will just have to wake up early for a piss really early so I'd not recommend it based on that.....solids especially chilli con carne though? Well thats one way to wake up with heart burn that makes you feel like an elephant was sleeping on your chest.

Yes my post just turned into a "dont eat solid food before going to bed" PSA.

I don't stop. If I'm thirsty, I'm thirsty. I normally get up once a night to pee. I consider that normal. If I've been slamming water all day I can expect maybe 2 trips during the night.

I’ve made the habit of keeping 3 water bottles in the bedroom constantly and I drink one in the morning as soon I wake up I’ve found it’s great for digestion but yeah I drink water right before bed and maybe honey lemon water aswell some nights I find it helps me sleep

Stealth ok boomer thread or what? I'm near 40 and drink water right before bed and have no problem with that.

Late 20s were the best years in fact.

I'm not going to lie down for bed with a dry throat. If I have to wake up after a few hours to use the bathroom, so be it.

Also, I'm 35 and I'm so triggered right now.

I drink a shit load of water throughout the day, so it's always a 50/50 gamble of if I'll wake up to pee anyway. So I def drink right before bed. And then if I have to get up to go pee in the middle of the night, I take another drink for the road :)

Depends how much I drink so if I drink a lot, probably a few hours before but if I don't drink as much, probably an hour before.

I don't think about it. I just follow my body. Sometimes I'm thirsty sometimes I'm not. I don't really wake to pee in the middle of the night either. I'm 40 for the record.

I mostly drink water. Sometimes warm milk with honey.

Based on how many people who post here that can’t make it more than 60 minutes without peeing if they are at a movie theater, I’m a little surprised at the poll results right now. Personally, I usually have 2 big water cups, usually drink both while in bed

I'm usually drinking often during the day and will get a fresh drink right before going to bed, so I'll have it next to me if I suddenly get thirsty or wake up thirsty.

I usually have a sip of water right before - I always keep some water around as I can wake up and need a sip. I do usually go to the toilet in the night like clockwork around 3-4am, so I'm not really concerned about drinking/not drinking just before bed because I know I'm getting up to pee any way regardless.

I normally have a glass of water before I go to bed and also have it in arms reach if I wake up thirsty.
Peeing during the night is not something that I normally have to do.

I drink a fuck ton of water throughout the day and usually have something right up until the hour I go to bed.

8 out of 10 nights I have to get up about 3 hours before my wake up to pee, that's about it.

I'm in my late 30s if that matters.

sometimes I drink a lot before bed and my plan is that I’ll wake up and have to go to the bathroom so bad that it forces me up instead of hitting snooze.

I drink water before I go to bed. Sometimes I drink other things an hour before laying down. I'm usually fine.

I have learned via a security camera that I get up some nights to use the bathroom and then have no recollection of doing so.
