Wanted Dead or Alive

Released: 1970

“Wanted Dead or Alive” is Warren Zevon’s debut album. The album was a commercial disappointment, and it would take another six years for Zevon to achieve significant recognition. However, it was an early display of Zevon’s lyrical prowess and eclectic style.

Warren Zevon

Released: 1976

“Warren Zevon” marked Zevon’s second attempt at a career in music, and it was the album that would finally get him the attention he deserved. Featuring the classics “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me” and “Carmelita,” this album put Zevon on the map as a serious singer-songwriter.

Excitable Boy

Released: 1978

“Excitable Boy” was Zevon’s breakthrough album, featuring hits like “Werewolves of London” and “Lawyers, Guns and Money.” The album was a commercial success, reaching No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart.
