Beaumont High School teachers have helped me stay focused during all my years. Beaumont gave me time to grow, discover myself, and develop in my academics. School has made me make new friendships and form relationships with people that I can trust and will last a long time. High school has provided me opportunities to explore interests and passions through extracurricular activities and clubs. The challenges and pressures of academics can help me develop resilience, time management skills, and a strong work ethic. Additionally, high school has shaped my future career paths through exposure to different subjects and career exploration programs. Overall, high school has played a crucial role in shaping my personal, social, and academic development.
My experience with beaumont high school, has been quite interesting, my freshmen year was all online. I started high school right around the time of COVID-19 started. I struggled but the teachers and staff were really helpful when we went back to on-campus school in 2021. They made everyone feel cared for and safe. I am really appreciate for all the students, teachers, staff, and faculty for making my high school years something to remember I doubt that I will ever forget about it. I had a couple bad experiences with students and some of the teachers, but once I told one of the staff about what was going on they were quick to come and help me out with the situation.
Over the past four years, Beaumont High School has expanded its academic opportunities for students. When I enrolled in the school, advanced-rigor courses were unavailable to students until their junior year. Now, students are able to pursue multiple advanced classes college-preparatory programs as freshmen and sophomores. The school excels in preparing students for the medical field through various in-school and after-school programs. However, as a student interested in linguistics, I experienced limited options in language courses and related advanced classes. The school's focus on college readiness mainly revolves around test scores, presenting challenges for first-generation students like me in navigating the college process without adequate support from counselors. Beaumont High School has the potential to help students succeed in various fields if it diversifies its focus beyond medicine and invests more in guiding students through the college journey.
