If you’re as big of a fan of the classic HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers" as I am, then it should please you to know that the actors that took part in the now all-time great show still take their roles seriously despite it being 23 years after it first premiered.

The BBC reported that a group of actors from the show are currently training to make an actual parachute drop into Normandy, France to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

According to the BBC:

Alex Sabga-Brady, who played Cpl Frank Mellet, is producing a documentary following the group's training for the jump.

The actors are being coached in Toccoa in Georgia, USA, before they head to France in June to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Sabgra-Brady, who lives in Walsham Le Willows, Suffolk, said the thrilling mission aimed to raise money for veteran charities.

Something many fans of the show might know, but the general masses might not, is that the actors never actually made a real jump out of planes to recreate the harrowing day that lives on in mythical status at this point.

For context, and in case you’ve lived under a rock for the past 23 years, “Band of Brothers” tells “The story of Easy Company of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division and their mission in World War II Europe, from Operation Overlord to V-J Day,” according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) summary of the show.

It’s ranked as the second best TV show of all-time on IMDb, only trailing AMC’s “Breaking Bad” by one-tenth of a point on its review scale (9.5 to 9.4 out of 10).
