About three big pops on A2 made me think there was something wrong with the vinyl. But this is apparently a flaw on the master tape and is present in other pressings. You can hear it faintly when you listen on youtube, but it certainly sounds more pronounced on vinyl.

This is a great-sounding record. The piano really sounds good, which I did not expect. The start of the show is Milt Jackson and his vibes. Gorgeous! As a listener, I can almost always do without alternate takes, especially played back to back, but I can tolerate it when the sound and the music are this good.

Very nice record, worth the 40 smackers.

I have US, yellow/black label edition, but the Matrix/Runout (Runout, Side A) is RVG PRL-7109-A AB K or M and the Matrix/Runout (Runout, Side B) is RVG PRL-7109-B AB M. Anyone have an idea of what this is edition? thanks

The B-side label on my copy is missing all album/tracklisting text.

Another guy here hearing drop outs on A2 and B3. Such a pity since the mastering quality is excellent, and I mean really excellent. As another reviewer pointed out, Analogue Productions could've invested in any other master instead of on this "damaged" one.

Sounds great to me, a typical mid 50s mono sound. Disc is flat, well centered and the jacket is superb.
              Very pleased.

I have a REI sticker-labelled "Marketed by Acoustic Sounds - Pressed by RTI on 180 gr." released abt. 2002 with the same barcode and matrix nos. Having not heard the more recent AP releases, I am amazed how great this earlier REI sounds on the very fine RTI pressing. And, yes, A2 has these distortions assumingly originating from the master tape. A very recommendable release especially for the current market price. Definitely worth a buy!

Hearing this for the first time using a modest Grado Mono cartridge I’m really impressed how good this sounds. What a deal at these prices.😎

i think the runout matrices are erroneous. G1 (A) is for carrolton pressing plant in the 80s. unless they are using the old plates for these reissues. hmmmm

If this is your first Analogue Production Prestige reissue, then I have no doubt you’ll love it.

However, if you already have a few in your collection like myself you might notice that this one simply isn’t on the level many of the other in the series are. A2 and B3 suffer from (what on my system sounds like) intermittent drop outs.

This is certainly a first for me, and makes me wonder; is all analogue always worth it? Even at the expense of uninterrupted playback?

In this listeners humble opinion the answer is no.

Simply put, if I had a blind fold on there’s no way I’d think this was pressed by Analogue Production.
