We putzed around the house for most of the weekend, and around 11am on Sunday we decided it was time to get out of the house.
After doing a quick look at interesting things within a short drive, Bad Urach came to the top of the list.
Bad Urach puts out an amazing color brochure with all of the must-see’s in the area, and it’s pretty spectacular. With a massive waterfall and several castle options, it’s a great option only a 25 minute drive away.
Just a short drive out of Stuttgart and you get into the Schwabian Alps. Not "the" Alps, but smaller foothills with their own spectacular scenery, and more importantly – lots of great woods and hiking trails.
We spent the day traipsing through the woods and enjoying the historic sites. Definitely someplace we’ll be returning to in the fall to enjoy beautiful autumn colors.
